Great location. Loved it.

Nice room, though the common areas on the 2nd floor does not have proper AC, we were there in June and it was not too hot out, but very warm in the common room. Our room was great, clean, quiet, save for a bit of noise on the street. It was great to have a common kitchen to use and save money on eating out. The bathrooms are a bit small/cramped on our floor, so if you have mobility issues or are tall, you may have a bit of a tough time.

It was a quick walk to the waterfront and many different restaurants and shops. Public transportation access was easy and made it simple to get everywhere we wanted to go downtown. Would definitely recommend!

For anyone booking through expedia, make sure you pay attention to the check in details for confirmation codes, I had to contact support to find the correct code, as the codes are different for the Expedia confirmation code and the residence's code.

Great room for the location and price! Absolutely no one on-site or accessible when you reach out to the contact information (office never opened) to support anything, including access to laundry, which is advertised.

Great place in downtown location

Cons: Had so much difficulty with communication between the residence and the booking platform.. it was seemingly non existent. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to check in. It was nearly impossible to access the information that one party required from the other in order to recieve our door code. Make sure you sort this out well in advance to save yourself the stress.

On arrival, the whole second floor smelled like weed. I was visiting with my young daughter and it was pretty offensive for both of us, maybe expected for a university dorm experience (?), but not the comfort we had been looking for. We didnt use the kitchen facilities because we couldnt stand to be in the common areas without holding our breath.

Pros: It was pretty quiet, and the room was warm through the night but the fan helped. About what we were expecting for a more budget city accommodation, but maybe still pricey when you factor in no parking. If you were a solo traveler, it might be adequate but based on our experience I wouldnt recommend for families.

GRANVILLE HALL DISCRIMINATES AGAINST MEN.
I was absolutely disgusted, upon arrival, to find that this residence has female bathrooms, and gender neutral bathrooms, but no male bathrooms. This is such an insult to men and it will take me years to recover from it.

Very hard to check in on the machine. No one available during stated office hours. You need the hotel confirmation number to check in, and it wasn’t provided by hotels.com. I had to call them for it.

Location and price

This was the first time I’ve stayed in a property of this type. No staff on property, community kitchen area & small rooms.

If you like to sleep on a soft mattresses then this is the place.

Everything went smoothly with the check-in, the room was adorable and clean, quiet environment. I was tired and went straight to bed, but there seemed to be lots of dining and entertainment around.
Close to Maritime Bus and even closer to airport bus.

Great convenient spot in downtown Halifax

Great value to be downtown Halifax. Rooms are clean and shared facilities are good. Keep in mind that rooms will lack things like irons, hair dryers etc… towels and extra sheets are available.

Location

I liked that it was a dorm and had plenty of private bathrooms, kitchens and a living room. Although the look of the brick wall is nice it is not comfortable to lean up against on the bed in 312.

Great spot in downtown HFX. walkable and close to nightlife, restaurants, water. Very clean and quiet and contactless entry was super easy !
