Lovely stay. Stayed in the new extension- massive room. Beautiful carpet. Clean and classy. Good view of the mountains.

Pros:

We are regular visitors. Was one of our favourite spots but it has gone down so much since we were last there. No management. Service terrible.

Cons:

Dirty room. Dirty towels. Dirty dining room. Had to ask three different people to light the fire in the dining room. Very disappointed

It was a good stay; would visit again
Pros:

Good location; good food and catering staff especially Victoria or Veronica;

Cons:

should work on room cleanliness eg stock up on shower gels etc not only on day one especially if you give the tiny bottle; also for a week stay I expected the sheets changed atleast;

Cons:

Management knowingly put us in a room which was undergoing construction eg. Lifting of tiles right in front of room door.
After complaining, we were moved to a new room.

Pros:

The breakfast was great. Location is perfect. Loved the fact that the on-site shop was open till 9pm. Very convenient and also had friendly and helpful staff members. The service at dinner and breakfast was great.

A disappointing stay😔
Pros:

The buffet breakfast was great.
Lovely walk-in shower.

Cons:

For a deluxe bedroom there was no airconditioning, claimed the underfloor heating replaced it. The underfloor heating was only by the bed!! Not even an electric blanket for a cold winter night/morning!

Bathroom was designed for disabled person. We are not!. Shower seat was in bad shape - paint chipped badly.

Poor housekeeping - towels were not replaced. Had to ask!
Curtain drop on one end was off the rail - had to ask 3 times before it was repaired! Water was not replaced in fridge.

Shower gel was not replaced in shower. Had to phone reception for some.

We have stayed at Houwhoek before and had great experience. This round around was less so.
Pros:

Nice walk you can do around the park and the fire place in room was a highlight.

Cons:

The food service was not great. The tables were not cleared and prepped for new people and you ended up sitting at a half prepped table. There were big groups for conferences and had the feeling they were not managing with the volume.
