Although hotels.com guaranteed us the reservation. when we arrived there was no room, we had to manage to find another hotel so as not to stay on the street, since that week there was a big parade in the port. even a bus arrived with people with reservations and the same thing happened to them. Terrible!!!
People were really nice and property was nice as well definitely would go back.
Room is okay, bathroom functions but is not the greatest. The porch is a nice touch. The aircon works well and is good to have in that area.
We managed to eventually convince the manager to call us a taxi.
The building is actually quite new but it seems very old. The rooms are rather dark. There is a shared kitchen but with litte tableware. It does not seem very clean.
A beautiful but dangerous beach is close to the hotel (rip currents in the middle, sharp rocks on the flanks, high waves everywhere). Stay in the shallow water! You find restaurants in other hotels in the neighbourhood only. There aren't any shops in the neigbourhood but a busstop to go to Limón or Moin, where the boats to Tortuguero depart. Buses TO the hotel depart from the Terminal in Limón
We arrived to find the rooms to be tiny and fairly squalid, but we aren't terribly picky. The bigger issue was that the nearby businesses play music that is loud enough that you could feel the baseline in your bones through a closed door. We also reserved a room with two beds, and got a room with one, and then were unwilling to move us to another room or to refund the difference in rates--apparently they felt entitled to try to charge us for more than we were actually getting. We ended up cancelling our reservation and staying elsewhere.
