Facilities were good, free coffee and water in the lounge, laundry facilities and restaurant in the basement. Rooms were clean, standard space and aesthetically pleasing
Rooms were dull/dark. Overhead lighting was poor and impractical. Poor breakfast selection - looked more like a dinner buffet serving potato dishes, stew, lasagne, scrambled eggs, salad and yoghurt. The food was tasty but not what it would expect for breakfast. No Japanese options for breakfast, only Spanish style dinner food.
Most staff were friendly and helpful however on checkout one staff member was particularly rude as we wanted to store our baggage to enjoy our last day on Kyoto before we move on to our next destination. She snatched my bags from me after I asked her to wait until I was ready to hand them over and proceeded to sigh and roll her eyes, she had an attitude problem from the beginning of our interaction this morning. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I had a great stay at Hotel Resol Kyoto Kawaramachi Sanjo. The room was comfortable, and the hotel had a lovely Japanese atmosphere while still feeling modern. The window had sliding shutters, which kept the room very dark and made it easy to get a good night's sleep.
The location turned out to be even better than I expected. Shops and markets were right outside the hotel, with plenty of restaurants just a few minutes away. Gion and many of Kyoto's main cultural attractions were within walking distance, so I didn't need to rely on public transportation during my stay.
Overall, I was very happy with my stay

The staff were always kind, professional, and welcoming. Their friendliness made us feel comfortable throughout our stay.

We enjoyed our stay overall, but there is one area that I believe could be improved.
Our room was noticeably dusty when we checked in, which was disappointing.
I also found the housekeeping policy inconvenient. As I understood it, rooms are automatically cleaned only once every four days. On the other days, guests need to contact the front desk if they would like housekeeping. Otherwise, only fresh towels and bottled water are provided, while guests are expected to leave their trash and used towels outside the room.
I appreciate the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, but I don’t think it should come at the expense of cleanliness. A better approach would be to clean the room and bathroom more regularly while allowing guests to opt out if they prefer. Alternatively, keeping the current policy but ensuring that bathrooms and dusting are done every couple of days would provide a much better balance between environmental responsibility and guest comfort.
Since our room was already dusty on arrival, this housekeeping policy made the issue even more noticeable.

Odamıza giriş yaptığımızda odanın belirgin şekilde tozlu olması bizi hayal kırıklığına uğrattı. Bunun yanında uygulanan temizlik politikası da misafir deneyimi açısından oldukça yetersiz geldi.
Anladığım kadarıyla odalar yalnızca dört günde bir otomatik olarak temizleniyor. Bunun dışındaki günlerde temizlik isteniyorsa resepsiyonun ayrıca aranması gerekiyor. Aksi halde misafirlerden çöplerini ve kirli havlularını kapının önüne bırakmaları bekleniyor; karşılığında yalnızca temiz havlu ve su bırakılıyor.
Çevreyi korumaya yönelik uygulamaları takdir ediyorum. Ancak bunun hijyen standartlarından ödün verilerek yapılmaması gerektiğini düşünüyorum.
Beautiful hotel and room design, the room was relatively big (by Japan measures), the lounge room offered nice amenities. The location is in a very touristy, nightlife neighbourhood, however, the sound isolation was excellent and this hotel offered us good proximity to our main areas of interest. A nice surprise were the entertainment events organized in the hotel lobby - meiko performance, karate class, calligraphy etc.
Our room technically had a window, but it was facing the wall of the opposite building, so we had practically no daylight in the room. This wasn't a big issue, as we spent most of the day away from the hotel anyways.
Location was a great and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Quite small but that is detailed exactly when booking. Breakfast was very expensive for what you got and not worth it at all. Afternoon staff was very nice but not very helpful and kept giving wrong information that later on, the morning staff said the opposite.
Rooms are not cleaned every day, only once every 5 days but you do get fresh towels, water and bath mat every day.

El personal fue muy atento en todo momento. La ubicación es inmejorable. Las habitaciones son un poco pequeñas pero muy acogedora y cómoda.
Tienen servicio de lavandería muy económico, vale la pena.
El desayuno, terrible. Todo muy aceitoso, poca variedad y NINGUNA opción sin gluten.
The hotel is beautiful and it is a great location. They have laundry in the basement which is super helpful and also activities to learn more about Japan.
The dryer on the right takes about 3 or 4 times use before your clothes get dry.
