Absolutely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Japan. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place.
The location is perfect right in the heart of Kyoto, within walking distance of so many restaurants, shops, Pontocho and Gion, while the hotel itself still feels peaceful and relaxing the moment you step inside.
The atmosphere is beautiful and feels authentically Japanese, with so much attention to detail. Everything was exceptionally clean, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. After long days exploring Kyoto, coming back to the hotel genuinely felt like coming home.
What made the experience even more special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. The hospitality felt warm and genuine, and the little touches made such a difference. I was even given a Polaroid photo as a small gift, which was such a lovely and memorable gesture. 🥹
I stayed here while traveling solo, and I felt completely comfortable and at ease. I actually felt a little sad leaving!
If I return to Kyoto, I wouldn’t even look for another hotel — I would stay here again without hesitation. A beautiful hotel, wonderful people, perfect location and an experience I’ll genuinely remember from my trip to Japan.

Cons:

Ontbijt viel ons tegen , en de ruimte waar het ontbijt was mag wel eens opgefrist worden. Hotelkamer echt top , wij hadden wel een grotere geboekt
