Pros:

The hotel was very central to Kyoto, within close range of shrines, the train, and restaurants. The hotel had entertainment in the lobby most nights which was a nice touch. The rooms were comfortable, not overly spacious but the regular size of a Japanese hotel room.

Cons:

There were 2 laundry machines and 2 dryers on the bottom floor that were generally always in use, however there is a nearby self service laundromat that we ended up using that was good.

We had an excellent stay and wished we had stayed longer.
Pros:

The rooms were small but cozy and had everything- bathrooms were much roomier than expected and great tub. The extras in the rooms were well thought out and appreciated.

Charming and well-located base in Kyoto
Pros:

We loved our stay at Hotel Resol. The location is excellent for exploring Kyoto, with many of the city’s highlights within easy walking distance and plenty of great restaurants nearby. The staff were incredibly welcoming and truly went out of their way to make our honeymoon stay feel extra special. Overall, a charming and well-located base for discovering Kyoto.

Cons:

The rooms were a little small, but still beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

Great location, lovely mix of traditional and modern style, and wonderful staff
Pros:

I just loved this hotel was in a fantastic location right in the heart of the city but also walking distance to the older parts where the tourist attractions were. Rooms were compact but comforatble and the hotel had a mix of traditional and modern elements. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Another feature was that the hotel had cultural events such as giesha dancing and califgraphy lessons for guests free of charge. They also had laundry facilities as well which was major bonus as we were midway through our trip. Would highly recommend staying here.

Cons:

More washers and dryers would be good - but the laundry was an added bonus so not a major complaint

Great value and great location
Pros:

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Comfortable room and good value. The shows in the lobby each day were a nice touch. An easy walk to Ponto-Cho made for lots of shopping and food options. Sightseeing was an easy bus ride in any direction.

Cons:

Nothing to change or add. It was a pleasant experience and I would stay there again.

Great value for money! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.
Pros:

Great location. Clean and nicely appointed. Loved the idea of providing a bag of towels, water and plastic bags to replace our own rubbish bin and towels.

Cons:

It was on the smallish side, but it was great value so didn’t bother us.
