Best Western Plus Bay City Inn & Suites

Stayed at Best Western Plus Bay City recently and honestly had such a comfortable experience. The hotel looks very nicely renovated and everything felt clean and fresh from the moment we walked in. The lobby was welcoming, the staff at the front desk were polite and helpful, and check-in was smooth and fast.

Our room was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly which was amazing after being outside in Texas heat all day. The bathroom was spotless, towels were fresh, and housekeeping did a really good job throughout our stay.

One thing I really appreciated was how peaceful and quiet the property felt at night. We were able to sleep comfortably without noise issues. The breakfast in the morning was also better than expected — fresh coffee, waffles, eggs, cereal, juice, and everything stayed stocked even during busy hours.

You can tell the management and staff are genuinely trying hard to improve the property and make guests happy. For the price, this hotel honestly exceeded expectations and felt safer, cleaner, and more comfortable than many hotels I’ve stayed at recently.

Location and the value for the money was worth it as well. Definitely would stay here again if I’m back in Bay City. Thank you to the team for the hospitality!

The hotel and rooms are amazing. Beds are very comfortable and size of the rooms are huge. It was just perfect for me. I will stay again.

I like that it was clean

All was great but was not informed that the elevator was out until we arrived. Both my brother and I are over 60 and have physical ailments, and walking up two flights of stairs were a bit of a challenge at best. Had our stay been more than one day I would have changed locations all together.

The stay and breakfast was good. The only thing was that we didn't have hand soap and I had to go down stairs for the blankets to uae with the sofa bed. Other than that, it was good.

I reserved this accessible room from 7/3/25 - 7/7/25. Me and my mom checked in on 7/3. She is partially paralyzed of the legs. On the morning of 7/3, moved a coffee table in the sitting room to make sure that my mom can sit in the couch and discovered that a cluster of mushrooms were growing out of the floor underneath the air conditioner! I took some photos and reported the findings to the front desk, Hailey. She let me know that there was only one accessible room in the hotel and that she will find out from her manager if they could provide similar accommodations at a nearby hotel. Approximately 40 minutes later, the housekeeper saw me in the elevator and told me to go see the front desk. Haley told me that she spoke to her hotel manager named Jessica about the situation and that Jessica said that they cannot accommodate me at a nearby location and that they have provided me with a refund. I let them know that I did not see a refund in any of my accounts. And I did not receive an email saying that a refund was being processed. I also asked for a formal letter explaining that my room was canceled for a health concern, and that they were not able to further accommodate me. The hotel manager said that she was not able to provide me with a formal letter. I was then given the corporate number for Best Western but denied to receive the email address. I called corporate who was not able to provide me with any other accommodating options to help me out with my situation. They also were not willing to accommodate me at another hotel. When I asked if they could find out if I can just get another room in the same hotel that was not accessible, they claimed that they already processed the refund and that I will have to pay out-of-pocket. I can let them know that I did not receive a email confirming a refund, and that a refund was not reflected in any of my accounts, and that I did not receive a phone call from anyone and giving me any information about a refund. I called my third-party booking and they claim that they do not have a refund request on file. I am now left stranded with my disabled mother all the way in Houston coming from New York. This hotel needs to be investigated for health concerns and for mismanagement. I’m going to see if I can attach photos of the mushrooms growing out of the floor.

The hotel was conveniently located and clean. Breakfast was good and staff was nice.

the bathroom was disgusting and had stuff growing and grime all in it took a shower and still felt dirty the toilet cover didn’t fit the toilet either. The bed was lumpy and the night stands had rust all over them.

Room was dirty when we got there, we found a rat in the pool while we were enjoying it!! Power went out over night so it was hot in the room and the elevators weren't working and of course No breakfast. The side entrances weren't available so therefore the parking lot was crowded and hard to park and access.

Will stay again for another weekend trip.
