Not a good experience I'm afraid.
First, Hotels.com CONFIRMS the reservation.
I then try calling the hotel for several hours to confirm airport pickup, but calls keep getting disconnected after a few rings.
Meanwhile, I receive an email from the hotel saying ‘cannot accommodate’.
I then frantically call Hotels.com which tries calling the hotel, but it's the same result - they can't get through either. Hotels.com then manages another booking for me using the same payment.
Then I get another email from Akuzz saying they have managed a room for me!
I email back saying "Huh?"
Akuzz emails back saying: "Please ignore previous email. Cannot accommodate."
A very stressful experience in light of my traveling alone with 2 small children and just about to board my flight to Male and facing this drama...
Big questions:
1. If Akuzz didn't have rooms, why was my booking confirmed and my payment taken? Hotels.com's system goes by the hotel's inventory.
2. How come none of their two listed numbers were working?
3. Why the drama of first declining AFTER confirming and taking my paying, then saying they have managed rooms, then again saying they don't have rooms?
4. Even Hotels.com couldn't reach them on the phone as they were trying to resolve the problem.
