Here is a draft for your review, written to be clear, firm, and factual to warn future guests about both the poor facility conditions and the unacceptable customer service.
🚨 Do Not Stay Here – Horrible Facilities & Abusive Management
I am writing this review to strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel. Our experience here was deeply disappointing, culminating in downright harassment from the management after we checked out.
First, the room and facility conditions were unacceptable:
* Pest Issues: We found two spiders in our bathroom upon arrival.
* Lack of Transparency: The hotel completely fails to mention a daily parking fee when you are booking your stay, leading to unexpected charges.
* Safety & Cleanliness: The swimming pool was full of dog hair, which triggered extremely severe allergic reactions for us.
However, the main reason for this review is the horrifying and unprofessional behavior of the General Manager, Robert Ávalos.
The day after we checked out, my husband received a phone call from Robert demanding his credit card information over the phone to charge us for two bottles of water and medicine from the lobby. Because my husband was at work and wanted to avoid a potential scam, he politely explained that a pending charge for the extra items was already showing on our credit card statement. Robert became incredibly demanding.
Hoping to clarify the situation and ensure this wasn't a scam, I called the hotel back and was transferred to Robert. He immediately became hostile, speaking to me in a screaming tone. He called my husband "crazy" for asking basic security questions and refused to explain why they were demanding a card over the phone when our statement already showed a pending charge.
Instead of handling the call professionally, Robert continued to scream at me, trash-talked my husband, and threatened us.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
nothing
This was the worst experience I have had at a Marriott property. Check in took at least 20 minutes while the gentleman tried to locate an available 2 queen room. He indicated they had a new system and he couldn’t find one even though I had begun check in the day before and requested a digital key. Eventually a room was located. The digital key finally showed up at 10 pm providing no use to us at that point. The room had terrible lighting with a small book light that was coming off the wall. It was very difficult to read in the room. The shower had low pressure and the water was barely warm enough for a shower. The elevator also had an unusual smell. Overall, my husband and I were disappointed with our stay.
When we first got there it was hard to find because of the construction, but once we found it it was easygoing.
We asked for our room to be cleaned after 3days but there was a miscommunication. But it got c.leaned the next day.
Location
Pillows were flat, the room I reserved does not exist. Pictures are wrong, they do not have suites that are handicap accessible. Bacon was shaved and mostly fat, sausage had an off taste to it.
The pool was small.
Location was in a nice spot, walking distance to a lot of good restaurants. A few miles away from the Coronado mall. Next to a bike/running trail. Breakfast was good.
The pool was small
Staff was nice
The pool as cold and smelled moldy.. possibly needs some maintenance
We booked this hotel because it was close to many good restaurants that allowed us to walk to dinner, so we did not mind paying >$200. We booked a king and it seemed very small for a Fairfield. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The ice machine was broke on our floor. Typical Fairfield breakfast. Friendly staff. We would try a different Marriott next time in Alburquerque.
Kyewi was the kindest lady to welcome us after a tiring driving day. She provided a warm welcome service and for sure she is a star between the members of the team. Room was good enough and clean.
