The Manager did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Wonderful environment.
Such an interesting hotel, art deco style and history is fascinating. Comfortable beds and great check in experience. No soap in bathrooms and shower is often lukewarm. Can hear other rooms very clearly, so if another room is talking loudly or having a late night party you will hear every bit of it. The staff (Deano) were amazing and when I called to complain about another room having a party at 3am, they immediately picked up the phone and sorted it.
Highly recommend staying here for the history, location, and vibe. Bring your own soap and ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
This property was just so enchanting because of the history that surrounds it. The bed was comfortable, the shower and water was strong and hot. We enjoyed our stay, and we must say that, Deano was a very attentive host. I would recommend the Nurses Quarters to all who are thinking of staying in the area.
It wasn’t my ideal place was nothing like the pictures
Lovely large room with unique fun decor. In a quiet and beautiful setting, walking distance from town for dinner. Good value.
Stay was okay but vibes of the motel and the area around was pretty spooky as if it is haunted. Later I discovered an ancient asylum hospital few meters away which was famous for some ghost/paranormal discovery trips.
Very spacious room with character
Peaceful
Harmonious
Great to listen to all the cockies and other birds waking up in the morning
Great Chinese restaurant in Town
11out of 10 for Deano the manager.
Looks rough as guts, but bends over backwards to accommodate ALL your wants and needs
Worn out uncared for monastic style accomodation with no services… forget it.
I chose to stay at Linaker Nurse’s Quarters because I was intrigued by how they have set this up as a motel.
Motel guests definitely step back in time as they enter through to the foyer.
The room was spacious with separate bathroom and living area which is modestly furnished, but this would have been reminiscent to the era. Microwave, toaster, kettle and TV are all clean and worked well. Tes/coffee/milk etc provided.
Bathroom had a great shower and decor was befitting the era as well. Basic supplies were provided which was great as hubby forgot his toothbrush.
The bedroom boasted a very comfortable bed which was great after a long days driving. Other than the bed, there were no modern additions to this room and the large wardrobe was sizeable enough to fit your clothes, suitcases and picnic basket if you have one.
The communal lounge is photo worthy and all that was missing was that the reception staff were not dressed to reflect the former use of this site. That would have been great.
For meals, it was a short stroll or even shorter drive back into town for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Overall this was affordable accommodation for anyone on a budget, it was quirky, we felt safe and had a great nights sleep.
It was our first time at Linaker‘s and we enjoyed very much; we will return for sure
Clean and quiet, but some minor things made it feel very 'budget' - no milk in fridge, some cheap plastic fittings in bathroom, etc.
The manager was definitely out there but he was so accommodating and couldn't do enough for us even when he had so much to do.
Lovely olde world property.
The only criticism I have is the car park has small spots and it seems that people from a nearby business are using it therefore sometimes the carpark was full.
The most important thing about this property is simply that it is based within an historic mental asylum precinct, so it's kind of fun. (I took my teenage kids).
This building is art deco style and very well kept, but includes thick metal doors in The Shining-style corridors, which can still be opened and closed and bolted, and would once have been used for the protection of staff.
The asylum precinct is large and various buildings have been similarly repurposed and the grounds and gardens are very beautiful and well-maintained.
There are several themed activities including a ghost tour and escape room available, though not on the night we were there.
This particular place didn't offer any meals but was otherwise comfortable and the reception guy had plenty of personality.
Just up the hill from the incredibly preserved gold rush town of Beechworth, all amenities are available including various dining options, shopping, etc.
Place was def quirky and comfortable
I thought this hotel very good for the price. Not luxurious, but the price is low so I don't expect that. The one fault is that the mattress in my room was lumpy, not good at all. With a better mattress it would be ideal for the price.
The building had character.
Quiet clean but terrible mattress on bed.
Private, safe and pretty comfortable, spacious private bathroom , lovely grounds with beautiful trees.
Wonderful heritage building in spacious grounds conveniently located.
