The Texas winter storm caused significant damages to certain building exteriors and guest villas at our Hill Country Resort. As a result, availability has been reduced and guests visiting this resort may experience construction and restoration work taking place on-property during their stay. Great stay at HICV Hill Country Resort
Pros:

Have no fear if you're planning to stay here in the coming weeks. We just returned from a great 4 day and night stay at HICV's Hill Country Resort at Canyon Lake. Excellent accommodations in a 2BR-2Bath villa with a full kitchen. Brookshire Brothers grocery store is very close by and convenient. Enjoyed lounging at their pool and hot tub, playing mini-golf and ping pong, taking the short drives to nice hikes at Canyon Lake Gorge ($5/person) and the lake's dam, Canyon Park Drive, Madrone Trail and its pollinator garden. Had good dinners at nearby Italian Garden and Guadalajara restaurants. Day trip to downtown San Antonio to visit the Alamo and other Spanish mission historic sites just south of town, then strolled the famous River Walk. The nice gentleman who checked us in at registration told us this resort will be shutting down in late December and HICV will put it on the market for sale. It will interesting to see if another timeshare company acquires it, or if all of its buildings are converted to condos for sale and/or apartments for rent.

I stayed at two different locations during my stay. The first villa was upgraded and sleek! The second could use some smart televisions and the laundry dryer didn’t dry my clothes. The small appliances on the kitchen countertops need to be moved and countertops cleaned underneath after each guest!

Easy location to find. Perfect location for a small town. Bed Z& pillows were excellent.

Cons:

My stay was for 3 nights. I expected daily 'room fresh' take used towels/trash. make the bed (not change) only 2 coffee pkts. I had to call and ask for more. I got the coffee but no cream/sugar. was I expected to use 2 towels/1 wash cloth for 4 days? Little things are appreciated!

Pros:

Not worth the money. Rooms are outdated and loud. There are no sidewalks around some of the units, so not ADA friendly. If you want to walk anywhere you are walking on the side of the road. Price value for what you get is not worth it. Checkin staff said property is going up for sale, so maybe improvements will come along.

Pros:

We stayed in a one bedroom villa for our anniversary for three days. The room, (more like an apartment) was great. It was clean and very well kept. It was well stocked with everything, pots, pans, baking ware, dishes, plates, and silverware. The kittchen appliances were either new or very well cared for. It appeared to be either new or newly remodeled. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Great parking right outside our building with an elevator to take you to the four floors. We ate in the cafe one evening, they had good food and lots of choices.
