Outstanding hotel, genteel and gracious staff, superb room, and great location
Pros:

This hotel feels like a hidden oasis. It is down a narrow alleyway and has a sign so small that you wouldn’t know that it was there unless looking for it.

Once inside, you will find an elegant and sumptuous environment, rich in details and beautiful finishes.

We booked a terrace room and the manager generously upgraded us to the corner terrace suite. The terrace was spacious, with a table with two chairs as well as two surprisingly comfortable loungers. The terrace itself overlooked the magnificent Borghese Palazzio and its courtyard with statues and fountain.

The suite itself was gorgeous and spacious, with a separate living room, full coffee-tea service, and a luxurious bathroom with a bidet. Water pressure was strong and hot water plentiful.

The bedroom had a spacious walk-in closet, lovely comfortable bed, and good pillows.

Each of the three rooms had a sophisticated Smart Control system. I enjoyed puzzling out the various functions but some guests might find it a bit complicated on first glance.

Every night’s turndown service was thoughtful and lovely, laying out slippers on bedside mats, drinks, and a sweet elegantly presented in a jewel case.

I understand that this hotel is known for its discreet and gracious service, and apparently draws a distinguished clientele for those in the know. I can see why! They made me feel like a valued guest and VIP in every way.

Highly recommended!

Everything was just perfect
Pros:

An outstanding experience from the help with restaurant reservations before we arrived to the warm and friendly service from everyone we met to the large and oh so comfortable room with a terrace, to the food and the amazing cocktails. And the great location. So pleased we chose to stay at the Vilon and so sad to leave. Thank you to the wonderful team.

Great location! Beautiful hotel! Excellent service!
Pros:

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Vilon for four wonderful nights. This is a great hotel and a great location. From the moment we arrived the staff was welcoming and helpful. Our room was lovely, with a patio overlooking a charming patio area. The dining and bar area are lovely. Breakfast included a great buffet, along with many additional offerings. The service was exemplary. Of particular note, were the people at the front desk/entrance. Milko and Diego were incredibly helpful. We were looking for various places, like a good nearby pizza restaurant and a pharmacy. Milko or Diego would leave the desk and walk us to our destination. Really helpful and friendly. You will not be disappointed.

Pros:

First, the property was shocking because it’s located in a small street with a very little entrance but once you walk into the hotel, it’s amazing. Service is amazing. The people are amazing and the only thing that I would fix is that middle of the night the air condition seems like it’s being turned off automatically from Center and that created some Hub nights other than that everything was perfect

Small boutique hotel in great location.
Pros:

Good hotel in a great central location. Hotel has a boutique vibe. Service is great and we had zero issues getting a cab or walking to tourist attractions nearby. Plenty of trattorias, coffee and pastries, restaurants and gelato places surrounding the hotel. Rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. Even though this is a small hotel it never felt crowded.

Best of the 5-Star Rome Central Hotels I've Stayed
Pros:

I've been to Rome every year for the past five years- twice pre year for two of those- so seven trips total- and I've stayed in 8 different 5-star hotels. This is my first review.
It's for the Hotel Vilon and staff- who have been exceptional from bellman to Diego who checked us in, bailed us out of a bad dinner reservation and set us up for the best meal we've had in two weeks of Europe (Greece, France and Spain first).
The place was Tempo Perso.
We have a room with a view of the courtyard of the Borghese and I'm sure if you had a room that viewed the inner courtyard you wouldn't feel the same. The windows swinging open to it are essential and the rooms with the little balconies seem maybe better though they are not entirely private and I'm looking down on them from my third floor room.
Still this is by far our favorite hotel in Rome. The room is big by all Rome standards and well designed to every detail. It feels like we could be here for a while and be comfortable and happy to be in the room.
More drawers would be my only suggestion but that's being very picky. They feel and look clean and it shows that they invested good money in quality and details- well thought out design without any inexplicable quirks commonly found in even the best hotels.
The location is perfect - and I've stayed in I think most every central quarter -including Trastevere which is also great. But this is just better than all of those.
The hotel is beautiful, photogenic and stylish. I wouldn't stay here with my kids but it's ideal for my wife and I.
If asked, this is the hotel I would first recommend in Rome, in an instant- and that you get a courtyard or balcony room.

Exceptional!
Pros:

Everything was exceptional! Centrally located hotel with strong working air conditioning. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The design and decorations are so beautiful that you feel you are in a museum! Delicious breakfast and dinner too. Customer service at its best. Hoping we can return for another visit in the near future. Thank you, Hotel Vilon!

Wonderful staff, lovely hotel, fantastic food!!
Pros:

Fantastic experience from the moment we got through customs. The hotel driver picked us up from the airport, we were then escorted to the car, driven to the hotel, and greeted by the staff upon arrival. Absolutely wonderful hospitality, the hotel is beautiful, and the restaurant was fantastic!! Some of the best food we had during our trip!

Fantastic Hotel
Pros:

A glorious, beautiful and sophisticated haven in the centre of a wonderful district. The service was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble. Stunning decor, very comfy bed and probably the quietest hotel Ive ever stayed in. Small communal sun terrace was perfect for an afternoon sit in the sunshine and a beautiful cool courtyard for early drinks. Great cocktails. All key attractions close to walk to including The Pantheon, Spanish steps and Trevi. I would definitely recommend Hotel Vilon if you are looking for a quiet, sophisticated boutique hotel in the heart of Rome.

Romantic Perfection
Pros:

Is the kind of thing where the reality is better than the photos provided on website. So cute, and elegant. Loved everything. Stayed in room 202 with a beautiful terrace overlooking some Roman historic details. Just magic.

The staff was very welcoming and kind. Only the house keeping should bear in mind not to move private things around and keeping things rather we left them. But after we communicated that, all was good.

Bad experience
Pros:

This is my first time writing a review, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Unfortunately, this hotel engaged in questionable practices that felt like a clear overcharge. I inquired about early check-in and was told it depended on room availability. Upon arrival, I noticed they had changed my reservation to a day earlier—something I missed while filling out forms after a long 14-hour flight. As a result, I was charged for an extra night at full price, which I find unacceptable.

Now, regarding the hotel itself, the bedding was quite uncomfortable, making it difficult to sleep. Overall, I don’t believe this hotel deserves a five-star rating.
