The location was amazing. We ate at the lex. The food and the restaurant were amazing
The bed was horrible. It was one of the worst hotel bed my wife and I have ever slept in. The fridge in the bedroom was very noisy. The fridge would be quiet then it would go on and make a loud humming noise it kept waking us up when we were sleeping.
The check in was great. The breakfast was good with lots of gluten free options. The pool area was nice but had a chip fryer smell to it.
The carpet had lots of stains in our room, one looked like vomit. The media and technology in the rooms is dated, no USB C, instead has older connectors. Touch screen lights are unresponsive and the fridge was noisy. We stayed here in 2019 and it was very new and amazing, you can tell that this place needs an upgrade which is a shame because the pricing of the rooms is comparable to a very upmarket hotel.
The check-in experience and the Valet parking service was good. Overall, I had a good stay. The staff were generally friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was good, and the room had everything I needed.
However, there was one interaction that left me feeling uncomfortable. One morning, as I walked past reception, the receptionist on duty (an older white gentleman) was warmly greeting and chatting with a white family who were passing by. When I walked past immediately afterwards, he appeared to deliberately avoid any eye contact or acknowledgement, despite us being only a short distance apart.
I don't usually jump to conclusions or assume racism, and I rarely raise concerns like this. However, the contrast between the warm interaction I had just witnessed and the complete lack of acknowledgement I received was noticeable enough that it stayed with me. It made me feel unwelcome in that moment.
I'm sharing this feedback not to make accusations, but because I hope every guest, regardless of their background, is made to feel equally acknowledged and welcome. Aside from this isolated incident, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and appreciated the service provided by the rest of the team.
