Unconventional Hotel Sorrento

We had an truly unforgettable stay at this beautiful hotel. The location is ideal: peaceful and relaxing, yet convenient for reaching Sorrento’s city center and the train station, perfect for day trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The building, a restored ancient convent, retains all its historic charm while blending in refined, modern details. The outdoor areas are a little gem—impeccably manicured gardens and a lovely pool, perfect for recharging after a day of sightseeing.

Breakfast was a real treat: rich and varied, with hot dishes made to order, and always served with great kindness.

However, what truly makes this place special is the staff. Attentive, smiling, and helpful at all times, they made us feel welcomed as friends rather than just guests.

It was a stay to remember, and I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone looking for an experience of charm, relaxation, and sincere hospitality.

This B&B was surprising. Exceptionally clean and comfortable with a bar and excellent breakfast. The location is great. Beautiful gardens and pool. The staff were what was most memorable. Olga at the front desk was a huge help with anything I needed including helping me plan transportation to my next destination. This was a great stay in Sorrento.

We are just back from a 6 night stay in this brilliant hotel, the best I have stayed in.
Everything is kept super clean and decorated tastefully. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was powerful. My teenagers stayed in a bunk room which was also very comfortable.
The location is great being just outside Sorrento, it is quieter and a bit more authentic. Nearby restaurants and bakery were better value for money too and didn’t have a tourist trap feel. The hotel offers a daily shuttle into Sorrento and back which was so useful, we walked it some days though and it only takes about 25 minutes. The hotel is 2 minutes walk to the train station which was convenient for Pompei and Naples.
The breakfast was superb, cooked to order and plenty of options.
The staff at this hotel are something else, the best customer service ever!! As well as being generally welcoming and helpful they went out of their way to help with things like bus/train/ferry information, directions, restaurants etc. We had one tiny issue with our shower plughole not draining and this was sorted out within half an hour whilst we were having breakfast! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A truly delightful hotel for our week long stay.
Everything was amazing from the quiet location just far enough from Sorrento centre but near to the rail station to facilitate the trips to Pompeii and Herculaneumn. We loved the way the former convent had been tastefully renovated leaving it's history intact. The gardens and the pool were a quiet, pretty oasis. Breakfast was everything we could wish for, hot dishes freshly cooked to order and served with a smile. However, the 'icing on the cake' was the staff, they all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and despite it being 'end of season' they were all pleasant, helpful and smiling all the time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Well what can I say? This is probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in ever!!! 10 out of 10 for service from the staff, lovely decor, everything was catered for, a small and friendly hotel close to everything in Sorrento and the surrounding area. The hotel provided a shuttle service, which was also very good. Pack up breakfast was also provided on the day we had an early flight and on days we were on trips. Infact the front of house staff sorted out so much for us during our stay and must say a particular thank you to Venere, who made the most wonderful coffees and made sure we had dinner on our return from a day trip. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

The hotel is stylish. We really liked its design. Common areas and the garden is beautiful. It is very close to the train station. They also offer shuttle to Sorrento. Overall good experience.

Je recommande absolument. Service impeccable, très propre et bon déjeuner d’inclus. Nous avons adoré le service aller-retour de navettes vers le centre-ville. L’anglais des employés est très bon et communication rapide avec whatsapp.

Amazing stay! Very friendly and helpful staff! Rooms and the grounds were super clean and well taken care of. Food /breakfast all fantastic!!

Excellent property and staff!

This hotel is wonderful. Very clean and well kept. Nestled down some small streets it is very quiet, away from the busy roads. The garden and pool are both lovely and different from the large commercial hotels. The food and drink were very good and well priced. There is a shuttle to and from Sorrento or the Sant' Agnello train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. From here you can go to Sorrento or Pompei, Naples etc.

The best thing of all are the lovely, helpful and welcoming staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them. Always willing to help. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel for a week in September. The hotel is very clean and well kept. It is smaller hotel in a nice quiet area. The garden and pool are lovely, so much better than staying in a large hotel. There is also a shuttle to and from Sorrento that runs regularly. The Sant' Agnello train station is only a couple of minutes walk and that gives you access to Sorrento/Naples etc too. The best thing of all were all the staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them and they were always willing to help in any way they could. Excellent stay and would definitely stay here again!

The location is a short walk from the train station. The neighborhood is walkable with stores and restaurants nearby. Excellent service from the staff.

The hotel was lovely, and although close to Sorrento, it was not easy travelling back and forth. The hotel does offer a limited shuttle service, and there is a frequent train service, which could be useful to some guests. However, given that we were heading to the ferry many days, it was more convenient to walk than use the shuttle or train.

Everything about this hotel was superb from the decor to the staff and the lovely gardens. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - one example we had an early start one morning and a packed breakfast was ready at Reception without even asking. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

One night but we woud recommand to friends going to Sorrento

My fiancée and I had the most amazing experience at Unconventional Sorrento. From the moment we stepped in, we felt the real peaceful atmosphere of the place and were greeted warmly by the reception. Our room with the sea view over the bay and Vesuvius along with the balcony was spectacular. The bed was incredibly comfortable, we slept well every night. Breakfast was a real treat and freshly made with ingredients from their garden. The area surrounding the pool was extremely relaxing. Sant’Agnello station was only a 3 minute walk and the shuttle to Sorrento main town was really convenient. Staff were very attentive and extremely helpful with directions and information on the area. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning.

Wow, what a beautiful place to stay!
We have just spent 7 wonderful nights at this hotel in room 115.
All of the staff were fantastic, very professional and friendly.
The room was very spacious with a huge double bed, clean and welcoming, beds made and clean towels when required. The fully working aircon system was super quiet, we could hardly hear it and it was very cool.
Lots of choice on the breakfast menu, would recommend the poached egg and fruit bowel.
We also made use of the snack menu when we stayed around the pool, this time I would recommend the Bruschetta, lovely!
The garden and pool area is an oasis and very relaxing. The pool is very clean and the garden is amazing with lemon and lime trees a plenty.
The hotel provides pool towels on request.
We made use of the 10 euro transfer which was very useful. You can message the hotel if your out in Sorrento and if available, they will pick you up at a selected time. The latest we were collected was around 9.45pm.
Location is a 2 minute walk from the train station, which we used for trains to Pompeii and into Naples.
Sorrento is a pleasant 30 min walk using the back streets, but look out for scooter riders!
All said, Unconventional Sorrento is one of the best hotels which we have stayed in. Absolutely perfect in every way possible.
Oh, I must mention the view from our bathroom window of Mount Vesuvius, it was stunning to see at any time of the day!

Small cooking experience with Madda & Miguele
This was one of our best experiences! Madda & Miguele
Were welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating to us. They were excellent hosts and teachers in the craft of Italian cooking. We made sauce, ravioli, gnocchi, tiramisu, bruschetta , drank wine and lemon spritzers . They kept adding dishes to the menu to either make or taste!
I would highly recommend this event! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unconventional Sorrento is a lovely hotel. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after. The pool is small but great for a cool off and a few strokes. We had orange and lemon trees for our parasols. There are 2 large terraces with very comfortable seating. Our room was very comfortable with modern decor and fittings. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. A fabulous, relaxing stay and would 100% recommend. So glad we found this place, an oasis and a super place to stay just away from the busy centre of Sorrento (use the shuttle, well worth 10 euros for the week)

Well, what can i say. The Unconventional is simply a wonderful Hotel. A short walk from the station and you are immersed in Italian luxury. Only a few minutes stroll to the sea front and restaurants, the hotel is in a fantastic position. The staff are kind, considerate and attentive. The hotel is spotless and the views from our room were stunning. Breakfast is all freshly made and the coffees are exceptional. The little buggy service the hotel provides, to Sorrento is a fantastic touch.
