We saw this hotel while passing through the street and decided to stay here on next stay, it is so beautifully located on a small street with beautiful architecture around you, location few hundred meters from downtown and main attractions in Tbilsi.
As we arrived we were greeted by host who is also the owner of this cozy small hotel, I must say this was one of our most hospitable encounters in Georgia.
For the price we paid to stay here it was very good value for money and host willing to help with whatever possible i.e. taxi booking, etc and at right price which in streets you usually found inflated due to being tourist.
We booked family room and it had ample space for 4 people.
Awful experience in their cafe. We ordered coffee and cake. Coffee was tasteless and not drinkable. I could not drink it. But this is fine. These things happen but then they charged us 18% more than we were supposed to pay. I obviously leave tips but this had nothing to do with tips. They claimed that this is VAT. It not common in Georgia not to have final prices on the menu. Pure cheating. Good that we have not stayed there for a meal.
1. Perfect location - I enjoyed staying at this place, as it is situated just in the center of the city - next to famous Shardeni street, about 5-10 mins walk from Freedom Square.
And there are several restaurant with live music just under the hotel.
2. Friendly stuff - a lovely family running the hotel!
3. Cute hotel with a perfect view on the city, comfortable and clean room. WiFi working good! Good breakfast!
Overall - for this cheap price its a perfect choice, especially for solo travelers.
Good location. Clean and nice room.
They need to serve hot eggs and coffee.
Front entrance door should not be slammed as it is very disturbing.
We only stayed 2 nights here, and we loved our choice. We had a budget room in the basement with two small windows on top. The room was pretty much okay. The bed was comfortable and so was the shower. Enough space for our luggage.
The breakfast was included in the price. It was served in the basement of the main building. The breakfast was really disappointing. No fresh breads, only toast. Very limitied choices, and the food that was served was not very tasty. It was like a buffet, selfservice. The space it was served was very depressing too, no window, no servants. They should really upgrade their breakfast to something more attractive and more tasty.
We used the rooftopbar once, the view was nice, but everything seemed to be super expensive. Better choose a place for dinner somewhere downtown next time.
The employee of the hotel at the reception was a wonderful guy. We had to leave very early around 6.00 in the morning. He gave us a breakfast bag that we could eat on our way to Kutaisi. I do not remember his name but he was superfriendly and service minded. Thumbs up for this guy!
Overall I can recommend this hotel, we got super quality for what we payed for the room. But the breakfast, please upgrade it.
We arrived at Hotel Opinion on 30 Dec. Check in good and quickly. Staff friendly. We could walk to New years facilities from there. In My opinion great loaction. Because no roads are directly linked to property it is pretty quiet at night. No real noize. Room was small compared to where we have stayed and breakfast needs to be improved. We stayed till 02 January, the room was not cleaned during this time, however we expected it. I would remove the carpet from the room. Nice balcony all and all we very happy.
Letto comodo, aria condizionata/calda autonomo
Got the hotel to organise our hotel transfer as the hotel may be difficult to find in between pedestrian streets in Old Tbilisi, staff were friendly and helpful. Stayed in room 4 which had nice views and a balcony with someone playing the piano on the street below. What a wonderful setting. Breakfast was only average at best and not a lot of room to hang clothes in the bedroom. Would stay here again though.
Stayed with a group of friends for the Ireland v Georgia football game. Lovely friendly staff, spacious clean rooms and newly renovated bathrooms with amazing rain head showers. Within walking distance of all attractions. Would recommend organising an airport collection with the hotel as the local taxi drivers will try to rip you off. Small hiccup as we had to change rooms for our last night but nice bottle of Georgian wine from the manager as a thank you
.
Found this hotel online before arriving in Tbilisi. As is in photos - large, clean room with free water. Discounts in hotel restaurant, didn't eat here but looked good. Nice roof terrace. Breakfast was quite average but personal taste...
Staff were friendly and we left our luggage with them for the day after check out.
Location was great and perfect for exploring the Old Town.
Benefits:
- location is great, very central. It's a few minutes to walk to Gabriadze's puppet theatre, Bridge of Peace, Shardeni street, Freedom square and Maydan.
- spacious rooms and even more spacious bathrooms. There was a fireplace in my room, yet decorative not functional.
- terrace. The view is amazing in the night. Even though it is always full, the dessert and coffee were average.
- they offered 2 bottles of water for free.
- guys on reception are helpful and offered help to lift the luggage.
- toiletries, slippers, TV set with lots of channels available.
Disadvantages:
- breakfast is very simple, with very little choice. No coffee machine. If you are late (but still on time for breakfast) you're gonna miss the omelette.
- my view was the opposite wall right 0.5 meters away and a dirty backyard full of empty bottles, cat excrements and garbage.
- make sure the taxi will take you here as the roads are really very narrow.
- no refrigerator in the room.
- room service is available on request only.
However, this is a good value for money, as this hotel is not overpriced, rooms are big, and location is great.
We first were exposed to the place by a visit to the rooftop terrace, which is well worth your time whether you stay here or not. We began to get to know the owners and the staff, all of whom are very friendly and warm. We decided to book rooms here on our return from a side trip and now feel more like family than guests at a hotel. The location in old town is perfect, the food in the restaurant is great and we have used them to book transport on several occasions. When we took our side trip, they willingly offered to keep our excess luggage until our return. Very pleased with all.
Great location, cozy area, very nice rooms for the price, and most of the staff very friendly and helpful. BUT... while having breakfast (which is average) we experienced that the staff demeaned us behind our backs (prob thinking we wouldn't understand the language). Nothing major, but still.
The worst part though was arranging a taxi to the airport. All other hotels were very helpful with taxis (most using the yandex app when requested because it is significantly cheaper). The guy at the reception agreed to try this as well or get a regular taxi. To the airport it's fixed price. It should never be above 25gel from the city. The guy said that as well, and that the absolute max was 30. When we were to go, there was a car with no taxi sign. When we asked the guy, he didn't know the cost and didn't say how he booked it, (all other places has told us the price before we got in). The driver didn't speak English or Russian and didn't say a word when we repeatedly asked about the price. It was 2.30am and we had a flight, so we couldn't get an alternative. At the end the driver just said 30 in Russian and left. ...Not cool, Hotel Opinion, not cool - and just not ok at all! The kind of thing that's just so annoying and disappointing to experience as a tourist, and sadly put a stain on an otherwise great stay.
Nice small hotel located in ok Tbilisi, only 10 minutes walk from Freedom square. Nice terrace with wonderful night view of Tbilisi. Nice small cafes all around with live Georgian music during evenings. Clean rooms, modest breakfast.
There is an amazing intimate sky bar st Opinion Hotel. Ypu can see cires of the parliament and the Holy Trinity church which looks beautiful at night. The have nice wines, gin and tonic, and we also sampled a cheese board which was quite good. Staff were helpful and kind. I'd recommend the roof terrace for a quiet evening. There was also a live violinist.
Hotel was excellent , new , staff was friendly , in heart of old city .
It was so disappointing when my family and I had arrived to this hotel in the late evening. The manager was so racist and not at all friendly! We being vegetarian, my aunt and I had asked him about the breakfast and he started answering us back so rudely that this hotel is very disciplined and mostly white people come and stay here (He knew we were Indians)! I was so shocked to see the way he was talking to us but still I ignored it. Stayed there for next 3 days. And really hated those 3 days there because of his stupid attitude. No wonder they were setting up an example of their own city and treating tourists..
This is a lovely looking building from the outside in a very nice part of town - streets full of old charm, close to the Marionette theatre and the peace bridge but nowhere near as crowded streets as the main tourist traps. Its also only a 15 min walk from Rustavelli avenue. The room was spotlessly clean and modern with fridge and air conditioning and bath robe and slippers were a nice addition. The only down side to this being that it wasn't cleaned or serviced at all during our 3 night stay. The hotel comprises of three different buildings with separate entrances but all are basically adjacent to each other. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English even with our request to check out at 5am for the bus to Kutaisi airport! The breakfast is a pretty poor selection and if you are later down the stocks don't seem to get replenished. Maybe just because we were out of season but you are better off choosing one of the numerous cafes or bakeries nearby instead. Overall though, excellent value and great location!
