Porterhouse Beach Hotel

Excellent location, cross the street from Patong beach, lots of shops, restaurants & cafe around area, the pool was nice & clean, staff were friendly, rooms were reasonable size, comfortable & quite, A/C and minu fridge worked well in extreme heat,,

The hotel is very clean and quiet,the lady at the front desk was very kind and attentive, making our stay an unforgettable experience as if we were at home. She was very kind to my kids and made us feel very welcomed. I 100% recommend this hotel.

Porterhouse Beach Hotel is an unassuming and lovely property tucked between Novotel and Paragon Patong. It takes less than 5 mins to walk to the beach from there. It is worth every penny at that price point, especially for myself who spends the day adventuring and only comes back for rest.

What I loved truly was the warm staff, Anne, the 'concierge' if you would call it. She'd help me the best she could if I had any questions. The cleaners too were friendly. And of course Roger, the owner of the property you would sometimes find by the pool having a drink. If I were in Phuket and in Patong again(and would wanna save on accommodation), Porterhouse is where I'd stay.

What started out as a pleasant stay, nice pool welcoming staff and clean room for the money on the first day. Second day, was horrible for all involved and quite sad. Owner proceeded to become drunk and belligerent for hours on end screaming obscenities at his hotel manager and sadly one by one everyone left the pool area. People at the hotel with little kids and noone could swim because he was in the pool being verbally abusive. This was beyond sad, alcoholism is a disease and I hope this man gets help. I really would like to give it more stars for location and cleanliness but do to this unpleasant experience I feel one star is appropriate. I dont care if your the owner or not, you never treat anyone like that!!! Sad for the kids to have to hear and see such behavior, to say this ruined my day is an understatement😢

The porterhouse hotel was the best hotel I stayed in Phuket. Even better service than some five stars hotels.

We had two rooms on the ground floor with a patio. The beds and rooms with three beds were clean and tidy.
Just 100m from the beach on the North side of Patong Beach.
Not luxurious but fine, no complaints for the price.

Friendly and helpful staff, very welcoming. Had a great stay, kids loved the pool and walking distance to the beach.

MUST READ! Please do your research prior to booking this hotel, extremely unfortunate as the location is prime. We arrived at the hotel an hour prior to check in, flew in from Canada and were a bit jet legged. We were dropped off from airport at Porter House , went to get our bearings and potentially leave our bags prior to a beach walk till check in time. We noticed open liquor on the counter, we were approached by a male staff member who initially engaged in conversation. However the tone and behaviour of the man changed alarmingly from passive aggressive, to insulting before becoming intimidating and threatening. As medical and law professionals who deal with confrontation daily, we were immediately threatened by this hostile behaviour. He then stated to each of us individually that he “doesn’t like us” and “to leave and never come back”. We exited the facility as per directed by the staff member as did not want to trespass on the property, we also began fearing for our safety. He stated we would be refunded in full. We immediately left and reported this to Expedia who played the non bias mediator until provided further details. More research has shown this is a chronic ongoing issue with this staff member , and we are currently in contact with multiple agencies who have assured action will be taken and it has been escalated to higher levels then normal reporting lines/reviews ongoing investigations. Not a safe place to stay. Raja or Roger, commits the offence of fraud.

The property is in a good place of Phuket, if you rent a motorcycle which is available on site, you can go just about anywhere in the area, you might need a motorcycle regardless of where you are in Phuket.

Great place. Will stay again. Owner very responsive on WhatsAPP and worked to meet every need.

It was very dated but clean. No elevators though. Get a lower floor if you don’t like stairs

No frills, old, run down, lukewarm shower, no elevator, European owned/operated, no 24/7 front desk, hallway lights turn off at night and poor service. Booked 7 days ended up checking out early and only stayed 3. Overpriced for what you get here. Look elsewhere. Owner runs and operates everything but lacks attention to detail and Thai style service.

The people of Porterhouse are both friendly and helpful. We were able to save money and enjoy many more excursions/activities thanks to the knowledge and contacts arranged by the manager.

We had flight issues and the manager IMMEDIATELY contacted an agent and had us sorted out.

The location is quite convenient at the top of Patong beach. There is a variety of restaurants and shops close to Porterhouse. After tout fatigue when walking around Bangla road, etc, it is nice to have an oasis of peace and quiet.

I was traveling with family and without friends but now consider the owner to be a friend. How many hotels provide you with friendship as well as a place to sleep and shower?!?!

Staff was friendly. The room was reasonably priced and the location is great.

Pool and outdoor shower are nice. Convenient parking. Common areas were clean.
Pool can get rather load.

I like the location of the hotel. Far from noises and very near to family mart and 7-eleven. This hotel is right beside Novotel Hotel.
The room is just sufficient for me that did not require hot water to drink because water heater to make hot drinks not provided. There's no hair dryer too. I like the hot shower.
The room is clean, but there's one time a cockroach appeared. Probably from the neighbor, because I saw there's a dumping site right next door. But this hotel is still clean.
I really love the friendly staff. Very helpful. One staff,a guy, didnt catch his name though, he helped to call my tour agent without me asking him to do maybe because he saw us waiting for two hours already. Do thank him for me!
