the whole experience was exceptional we really enjoyed the stay, the surroundings & the food was amazing too.
Dawn called me before we set off & greeted us when we arrived, really appreciated Dawn showing us around & explaining where everything was.
lovely hotel and grounds
excellent location
lovely comfortable room
The location, the history of the place, the staff and the food. The breakfast was fabulous. The staff were helpful, even coming in early to prepare cooked breakfast for us as we had to leave early to catch the train. We were upgraded to a suite and the room was totally awesome.
Nothing in particular.
Breakfast very good dinner expensive very well served good food
Drinks had charges on them for service but I suppose it was what I should of expected in a hotel
Beautiful location , building & grounds.
This place is fantastic!
From the moment we pulled up outside Goldsborough Hall we knew that we had found a truly magical venue for our wedding reception.
The venue itself is a breath-taking house, steeped in history with magnificent grounds, set against a backdrop of beautiful countryside. From our champagne reception on the patio amidst beautiful flowerbeds, to the stunning Orangery where we ate and the panelled library we used during the evening, Goldsborough Hall was the perfect setting. Our assigned wedding coordinator, Amanda, was brilliant. She patiently answered our endless questions, came up with imaginative solutions and helped us to create a day that was truly personal to us. Nothing was too much trouble. She was amazing.
Dan, the head chef, took time and meticulous care over our wedding breakfast and was always available to discuss even the smallest details that mattered to us. The wedding breakfast was delicious and seamless with many guests commenting on the high quality of the food and wines.
All the staff were friendly, courteous and helped make our day very special. Melanie even managed to get a muddy footprint off my wedding dress train as soon as we arrived with a reassuring smile!
Having considered alternative venues before finding Goldsborough, we were very impressed by the package that Goldsborough offered us, including the use of all sixteen beautiful bedrooms for some of our guests. The entire place was ours.
Thank you to everyone at Goldsborough Hall who contributed to what was for us the perfect day. We would absolutely recommend this venue!

We had an excellent time, the staff were all very professional and helpful, the rooms were beautiful and well kept, we would highly recommend
Beautiful country house hotel. Very comfortable room. We stayed in the Dower House, a lovely sized room with French doors opening onto the gardens with a patio table and chairs. A nice breakfast, the icing on the cake was the outstanding evening meal. The hotel has just retained its 3 rosettes.
We went on a travelzoo package so got a great deal for bed breakfast and set evening menu (3 choices. 3 courses)
Canapés before dinner and a bottle of prosecco
There are several communal areas to have drinks or lunch, all very comfortable and as it was January a beatiful roaring fire
We were celebrating my birthday so after dinner sweets a lovely treat
We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with a night at Goldsborough Hall. We have stayed on previous occasions and love the tasting menu offered in the main dining room. This time my wife chose to have the pescatarian menu (I gave prior notice), the food was amazing, the service was to the usual high standard and the visit was completed with a traditional Yorkshire breakfast in the orangery. Our room on this occasion was the Byerley Suite a beautiful period room with views across the park, a sumptuous four poster bed and a first class ensuite c/w jacuzzi bath and a huge rain shower. We look forward to returning later on in the year.
If it wasn’t for Allison Aspin my stay at Goldsborough would not be the same. She was so helpful and cheerful and such a lovely hostess. She recommended dinner which was one of the best I’ve had in Britain and carried my heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. What a wonderful place and such lovely people.
Location was good and the building looks stunning from the exterior. Comfortable bed.
Appalling value, cleanliness and staff (check in) experience. Check out staff were friendlier and took our complaints/concerns down but no-one followed up on them. £480 for a night to not even include breakfast? Poor standards of cleanliness and our room was tired.
The location was lovely and the grounds and building are fabulous. We did not have breakfast as we had to leave earlier to get back to work.
It was perfect for us.
