The island itself is small but plenty of activities to be done. The water is the clearest I have ever seen!
The Family are so welcoming and helpful throughout your stay.
The food was amazing and portions were huge.
Such a lovely stay ! Really wholesome and lovely views. Highly recommend.
Me and 4 others stayed in a private room, right on the beach, where you can hear the waves crashing just outside, it was sooo relaxing. Our room was basic but great for the price and had everything we needed for a chilled and authentic experience.
The homestay was also very well catered to solo travellers as we ate together for all of our meals and built some great relationships with the other travellers.
Food was amazing and super filling, there’s also a shop on the island which was really convenient, and a couple of local places that sell doughnuts and ice cream.
Lithe the homestay owner and her family were so warm and friendly. Lithe especially went the extra mile to make sure we had a lovely stay. She gave us a big hug on departure and waved us off, we were all so sad to leave!!
Nothing!
Beautiful island. The ocean view from my cabana was incredible. You are falling asleep with sound of the ocean waves and the wind. The family was incredible and I felt like part of the family. We became friends and I will return there next year. Simplicity of the stay was lovely and down to earth. Don't expect the level of resort as it isn't. Place is humble yet so beautiful. My roaming was working well on Vodafone and Digicel, in some parts stronger then others, but still working for the needs I needed. But it's a place to forget of busy life's and all the devices. 25 min across the island you will find blue lagoon and small shop by resort although shop got limited items. Also make sure you take your toiletries as only simple soap provided which was fine with me. You can buy shampoo or other toiletries in the shop I mentioned. Don't forget to visit Lo's bar for lovely lemonade and famous doughnuts- yummy. Near by you can try organic no sugar and no diary banana ice cream. If u can bring the gifts. They say no gifts but as Fijan traditions and a home stay this will bring smile to their faces. I brought the gifts and shared with a family after my lost luggage arrived 3 days after my arrival to the island. They were really happy. I could write an essay how much I loved it there but I will leave it for yourself to visit and decide on your own opinion. Miss them already.
N/A - I loved it every single minute.
Wonderful family hosts, very filling food
Very basic lodging but great experience overall
The family was very welcoming
I loved the evenings when they were playing the ukulele and singing.
The dorm is clean
I recommend this homestay
Think about bringing a mosquito spray
I liked the people I met there.
I just got the feeling that Joe and Lice were kind of exhausted from being hosts all the time
We loved our stay at Sunrise Lagoon! Lice and the Family were very kind and helpful. The activities were cool and included shark snorkelling, a trip to the Sawai-i-Lau caves, spear fishing or normal fishing, a massage and a school visit. Although we only did the caves and the shark snorkelling, we highly recommend it. Also, you could walk to the blue lagoon in about 20-30 minutes and have really lovely views along the way. The rooms were really nice and clean and at night there was always a cooling breeze coming through the window! Making it live up to its name was the sunrise above the ocean every morning which was great to watch. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner was always at 8am, about 1pm and 7pm and was always very yummy! Of course it is a homestay after all and an Island in the middle of the ocean, so cell reception was limited which wasn’t horrible for us to go without our phones for a while. The power was on all day but out at night, lights were on throughout the night to the toilets and also optional in our dorm room though. But there was still plenty of space left in the day to charge all our electricals.
Nothing! Thank you again for everything :) we’d love to come again someday.
Wow where do I begin, from start to finish this stay was magical. Bags were carried to the room, accommodating to our big group (there was 8 of us).
Our host lithe was very friendly and welcoming, she really made us feel part of the family and safe at her home. The home cooked meals were delicious and never disappointing. There was also coffee and tea offered to us throughout the day.
There were daily activities available for an extra cost but it was reasonably priced. This included snorkelling with reef sharks, visiting the caves, fishing, fire dancing and lots more. They also invited us to play volleyball with the family.
The facilities were basic, be prepared to live the island life. Make sure the bring towels and body wash etc.
