Not accurate info
Pros:

The address as listed on Hotels.com is not correct. The hotel was in actual fact 3km outside Tam Coc. Since this is mainly what I’ve based my decision on when making the booking this is a major issue.

When arriving at the hotel at 21:00 there was no one there and everything was closed and lights switched off - it said on Hotels.com the reception is available 24/7?

It also said on Hotels.com there would be a buffet breakfast - this was definitely not the case.

I feel misled and disappointed.

The people were very friendly though and no further complaints :-)

Family run homestay recommended
Pros:

Family run homestay. Family was very gracious. Rooms could use some updating but for the budget-conscious, it’s a great pick. A bit of a distance from all the action, which for us was a plus. Built into the side of a limestone karst, so setting is beautiful. Within about a five-minute walk is Bich Dong (or Dang?) Pagoda which was one of our favorites that we saw while on Vietnam (and we saw many!)

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had an issue with the air con not working and they switched us quickly with no issue. Staff was very helpful.

Pros:

This is not a bad hotel, but it is purely for no frills backpacking. Rooms are dirty and humid. The price does not reflect the condition of the hotel. Would not recommend this hotel at all, there's much better for the same price.

A big heart in a gem of a village
Pros:

I stayed at An'na Tham for 3 days as part of a tour of Vietnam. The hotel is simple, clean and adorable. It sits in the tiny village of Bich Dong, just outside of Tam Coc. The view from my balcony, breathtaking and Tham and her husband were lovely: really warm and friendly and when I had to get up at 6 for an early morning trip, Tham cooked me an omelette baguette.
I spent 2 of the days exploring: first the Mua caves, around 7km away by bike then Bird valley, around 5km in the other direction, through beautiful rice fields - and just next to the hotel were two cave temples - the whole experience was astonishing - just be prepared to do a fair bit of climbing steps.
If you are looking for a luxury tour then join the other drones who get ferried to the sites in air conditioned buses and whisked around by the tour guides, if you want to experience the beauty and warmth of this amazing country directly, stay at places like An'Na Tham hotel, hire a bike, seek out simple food and get exploring.

Pros:

This hotel was wonderful to stay at. At first I thought it was a bit out of the way, but I actually really enjoyed the quiet area and the AMAZING view from the room. It is also a 5-minute walk from Bich Dong pagoda, which was one of my favorite sights in the area. It is just a short bike ride from Tam Coc, and with a motorbike it is very easy to get to all of the major sights in the area.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and you can really tell that they care deeply about this hotel and their guests. Bikes and motorbikes are available for rent for a small fee, and there is a pretty good breakfast menu.

On my last day I was trying to find a way to get to Tam Coc to catch my bus, and they gave me a free motorbike ride into town, which was very generous of them!

If you want a family-run small hotel tucked away in one of the most beautiful and quiet areas of the Ninh Binh/Tam Coc region, definitely stay here.

Thanks to the Anna Tham family for the great experience! :)

Great quiet stay with an incredible view
Pros:

Great 2-night stay. Quiet with a beautiful view. Close enough to visit two must see spots on a bicycle that you can borrow for cheap. Owners were very helpful and genuinely nice people. Tam Coc is a must see for anyone visiting Vietnam. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, Anna Tham Hotel suits the bill perfectly.

Pros:

Lovely hotel in quiet location, not too far from Tam Coc town which we rode bicycles to get to. The family are all so welcoming and told us all about the local area, including how far each place is and how much to pay. They even let us use a spare room for a shower after we had checked out to freshen up before we got the night train! The rooms include everything you might need and the views are great.

No frills room in need of TLC out of town.
Pros:

Don't really know why this place is getting such great reviews. In my opinion it's mediocre at best. The place is out of town so you need to have a vehicle to get around. The description said the rooms offered views but the window was to the corridor outside and had frosted glass, so unless you wanted everybody to see into your room as they passed by, and let hot air in, you needed to keep the windows and curtains closed, obviously preventing any views. There were no tables and chairs outside either where you could have sat and enjoyed the view. The room in itself was outdated and had no atmosphere whatsoever, the fluorescent lights not making it any better. The bed was the usual firm one and creaked a lot. There was no lift in the building nor a phone in the room so if you wanted to reach reception, you had to walk down and hope someone was around (which often wasn't the case). There was no bin in the room nor any hangers and the placement of the TV wasn't practical for viewing. The old bathroom really needed maintenance and had a leaking sink and low water pressure in the shower, and toilet paper had to be put in a bin, not flushed. There were no hand/face towels nor a bathmat. When asking to hire a bike, the price quoted was more than in town but as I mentioned that, they matched the price. The staff, when around, were friendly enough but nothing out of the ordinary. I was given a map and a quick run-down of what was around. Breakfast was nothing to write home about.

Really great place
Pros:

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 boys. From the moment we arrive we were made to feel like part of the family. Location was good, just 15 min to Tam Coc Center or 5 mins on a bike. They arranged all our trips through private transfers which made it easier with the kids. Trang An was wonderful and the bird sanctuary was really nice to cycle to from the hotel. Would definitely visit again.

Do yourself a favour, stay here!
Pros:

Cannot rate Anna Tham highly enough, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the family could not do enough for us,they went out of their way to help us in every way possible, gave us lots of great information on what to see and do in the area, and fixed the flat tyre on our motorbike without us even having to ask. The view is also amazing!!! It’s on a quiet lane a little outside of Tam Coc,so peaceful. They also have bikes and motorbikes and will give you a lesson if you have never ridden before, we had our own so didn’t need to hire but saw other people get them. Really can’t say enough good things about them!

Amazing!! Stay here instead of Ninh Binh!
Pros:

The staff treated us like family as soon as we arrived! The room had a great view, and the beds and bathroom were clean. We rented a bike for the day for next to nothing. We were able to easily get into the village for dinner, and we could walk to the temple and viewpoint 200m away. When we arrived, the staff showed us everything and answered any questions we had. Everything was amazing!

I highly recommend staying here!

A hidden gem
Pros:

If you want a quiet and homely experience, this hotel is just for you.
I am very happy with the services they rendered me in planning my trip, offering me their Home made vodka, and interacting so cordially with me. This is a family run unit and you will truly feel at home. The room they offered me was shining clean as well!

The hotel has a scenic view and you will wake up to fresh air.
You can rent motorbike from them and ride around. For the price I pay, I have gotten more than the value. Thanks!

Great
Pros:

What a great spot! Nice rooms with a million dollar view. Perfect location for any outings that you want. Scooter rentals on site, and Trang is a perfect host. Speaks good English and takes the time to explain all the sites, how to get there and exactly what you should pay so no surprises. Love this hotel and the owners.
