Hotel Pura Vista

My wife and I travel a lot and consider Kimpton's roughing it. This hotel was hands down the best-run place we have ever been to. The view is world-class, and the pool is incredible. Breakfast was great. The menu was more of a guide than a fixed option. The owner was such a great guy and helped us with everything we needed, including car repair. We will 100 percent be back.

The view from the deck is amazing. The room is thoughtfully appointed. A great property!

Mark was a very helpful host and he provided great recommendations for activities and dining. The view was absolutely stunning and the free homemade breakfast was awesome.

Mark was great to talk with about the area and his involvement with local causes. Breakfast was excellent local cuisine.

Loved the pool and the room's high ceilings and modern decor - everything was very well maintained. Breakfast was very good, though the staff could perhaps have been more attentive. Overall, it was a great stay.

Clean and beautiful view

This is a small and economical but REALLY nice place. The view is staggering! pool is maintained daily. Breakfast is wonderful; not your typical hotel 'continental breakfast'. We woke to so many birds calls and even howler monkeys in the distance. Lots of endearing subtitle features: plants, decorations, bedding options, filtered water, lounge covers... Check-in and out was smooth. Staff was OUTSTANDING. Can't miss staying here!

We chose Pura Vista to enjoy the natural scenery and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The image of the pool overlooking this truly captures the essence of our stay. We woke to the sound of howling monkeys and enjoyed beautiful watching blue jays flying about. Our room with the private pool was very comfortable and clean and we had good rest, energizing us for the next day. Mark the owner and his staff were very gracious and went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable, helped us find transportation and local restaurant recommendations. Mark proved to have a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife and sea ecology which I found remarkable. Last but not least, we fell in love with the resident cat, Cosmo, who checked in on us daily to be sure we were having a lovely vacation. Thank you Pura Vista owners and staff, from Cindra & Joe.

My kids and I loved our one nite stay at the Pura Vista. The view was gorgeous and Mark and the staff made us feel right at home. Wish we had stayed longer.

This is a small 6-room boutique hotel that is up the hill from Ocotal Beach (Playa Ocotal) and about a 10-minute drive from the main strip on Coco Beach (Playas del Coco).

Mark is a great host, and he and his team do an awesome job running the hotel. Mark greeted us when we arrived at ~9pm even though our room key had already been arranged for us in a lock box.

Our unit was clean, updated, and had a balcony with a fantastic view of the ocean. Every morning, a complimentary vegetarian breakfast was provided that featured fruit, gallo pinto (rice & beans), and eggs. The pool was the perfect place to take a dip after returning from the beach/ocean, and it overlooks the same wonderful view that's enjoyed from the rooms and breakfast area.

Parking was never a challenge during our stay because there were never more than 2-3 cars in the lot. The parking area, and the entire hotel, are in a secluded but safe and gated area.

My only quibbles are that it would be nice if the hotel offered more complete amenities (they provide shampoo and conditioner, but not body wash and lotion) and some of the towels had frayed edges. Otherwise, our stay at Pura Vista was first-class!

Very friendly owner, beautiful views from room. Had a lovely stay. Bit of an uphill walk back from the beach but good to get your steps in. The beach is nice and not too crowded.

Beautiful view, good stay

When we arrived there was a hiccup at airport / rental car. I was very concerned but called Thisbee. She calmed me, explained options, and was a trusted colleague. The owners went well above their “jobs” to assure our stay was perfect, and it was.

Lovely host! Difficult to get transportation as the property is located in a residential community outside of town. Only one dining option. The restaurant at the property only serves very small breakfasts, so you will need to go elsewhere for all other meals and food. Would be a better choice of stay if we had rented a car. We

Staying at Pura Vista Hotel was such an incredible experience. It is a very cozy hotel that has mesmerizing views and romantic atmosphere. It is very clean and set up comfortably. Only 10 minutes walk to the beach through a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, this very unique place made our vacation memorable.
Definitely would want to come back!
