Love it here!!!
It was amazing !!
Awesome place, friendly, helpful staff, very nice owner. Can’t wait for the next trip!
My sister and I loved our stay here in the Gold Miner’s Suite. Enjoyed sitting outside in the porch in the morning and evenings. And the staff was friendly!!
Wonderful bed and breakfast. Charming 1800’s building and decor, comfortable rooms, safe central location in town, dog friendly ( no fee) and wonderful staff. My room was on the 3rd floor and I enjoyed the porch swing as the evening set in.
The hotel was a lot of fun to stay in. Felt like we were back in the 1800s. Be sure to bring a book or games, or have a plan to drive somewhere. Not a lot to do around the hotel, but it's a great place to relax.
This is a recently renovated Gold Rush era hotel, very quaint and authentic. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated to modern standards which is nice, but have authentic period decor/antiques. The town is VERY small and cute, extremely quiet (in general) and a walkable historic self-guided tour. It makes a great base of operations for exploring the area.
A couple of things to know: it is 3 story, but because of the age, there is no elevator (typical with Gold Rush era hotels). They have one room on the ground floor for ADA compliance. The town is so small that they don’t have any other businesses besides a small general store and post office, so you must drive to find anything else to do. As of this moment there is no restaurant or bar, but the hotel owner is working on that and says that pending permit approvals, should open their restaurant and bar this year. During the week, breakfast is just self-serve coffee and cereal, but they offer more on weekends. Despite it being so quiet, there is an active train track not far from the town and although we didn’t hear it (the road crossing was far enough away), it’s worth noting. Most of the small Gold Rush era towns along I-80 have this issue, just be aware.
We were thrilled with the experience and authenticity of it and will go again.
What a hidden gem, and such a value! And the Monte Vista restaurant a mile away is some of the best food I’ve ever had, from the New England clam chowder and crab cakes to the savory prime rib and the Carmel popcorn cheesecake!
LOVE this Place- So comfy and homey!
It’s such a nice place it’s like a bed and breakfast going back in time. We truly enjoyed our stay. So comfortable and lovely.

I LOVE the Dutch Flat Hotel! They are the Best!
Beautiful, historic hotel in quant gold town. Very accommodating staff. If you are a mining history buff it's a must stay!
We were going to be very late getting to the hotel and asked if that would be an issue with the self check in. The staffs response was absolutely not and since your coming in late we will turn the A/C on for you. The room was very pleasant when we arrived. As tired as we were, we took the time to take in all the old furniture and layout of the front lobby. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice "Old West" feeling. Vintage accommodations. Very nice area.
Nice historic place. However despite advertising breakfast included, that was not the case during week days... which is inconvenient for a family with hungry kids, especially considering how isolated the place is. Besides that highly recommended
A cute and unique spot.
Charming historic inn with friendly small town vibes.
Super cute and charming place!!
The room was nicely decorated and the building was historical. The place is very cute, but I would probably not stay again. The shower had no pressure and the shower curtain inside the bathtub made you feel like you were suffocating in it. There was a pair of dirty socks between the mattress and the bed frame which made me question if the room was even cleaned. The floor is very loud which means you can hear everyone in the middle of the night getting up to use the bathroom.
The ambience of the motel is incredible. He came here for the Christmas magic and we sure got.
