Park James

Park James was sleek, clean and offered a nice, comfortable stay. It's centrally located in an area where you can easily walk to and attain. The aesthetics of the hotel really go unmatched. My only qualm was the parking needing to be valet, therefore paying for the parking. Although the valet were very attentive and quick, can't complain about that. We did notice a scuff on our rental- since we bought rental insurance it didn't bother us too bad. However if it was our own car, it would be irritating. Other than that our stay was hospitable and close to the station that we needed to access to go to the Stanford Stadium. Overall would stay again---just wish parking were free

We stayed at Park James last week and had such a wonderful experience.

The hotel is in an excellent location in Menlo Park, within walking distance of downtown, making it easy to explore the area. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted immediately by the front desk team and felt genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the décor feels luxurious without being overdone.

Our room was beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. We had a room with a Juliet balcony, which was a lovely touch—you can open it up and let in the fresh air if you're not a fan of air conditioning. I was also happy to see the return of the in-room minibar. The bottles felt a little large for individual consumption, but they would make a great last-minute gift.

Another standout feature was the water carafes in the rooms—yes to less plastic! The beds and pillows were immaculate and honestly among the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The hotel uses Frette linens, towels, and robes, and you can absolutely feel the difference. Everything was incredibly soft and plush. My only small suggestion would be to include slippers in the room, although they may be available upon request.

I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities in the bathroom. They provide a bag of essentials with a dental kit, shaving kit, and vanity kit. To me, that's what luxury is all about—anticipating guests' needs before they even ask.

We had dinner at Oak + Violet, which is helmed by a Michelin-star-awarded chef. The flavors throughout the meal were excellent. The fried oyster and oyster crema that accompanied the beef tartare were incredible—I would order that component by itself every single time. The Sizzling Monterey Bay Squid Salad was another highlight of the evening.

My partner and I shared the Pt. Reyes Grass Fed Beef Strip Sirloin. It came with a "beef crackling," which I wish had been cut a little smaller and fried slightly longer for more crunch. However, the potato purée served alongside it was outstanding—easily one of the best I've had in the Bay Area.

For dessert, we ordered the House Made Cinnamon Roll Sundae, and it absolutely stole the show. The house-made cinnamon roll is hands down one of the best dessert items I've had and, without question, one of the best cinnamon rolls in the Bay Area. It's a must-order.

Service at Oak + Violet was equally impressive. The servers and bartender were incredibly knowledgeable. Since I wasn't drinking alcohol, the bartender noticed and created a non-alcoholic strawberry drink just for me so my partner wouldn't be drinking alone. That level of attentiveness and craftsmanship is rare and truly memorable. Shout out to Mostefa—he is a fantastic addition to the Park James team.

Breakfast the next morning was also very enjoyable. We had the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich, both of which were filling and delicious, and I appreciated the California juice selection.

Overall, our stay at Park James was exceptional. We felt welcomed, cared for, and genuinely appreciated as guests. The atmosphere and vibe of the property are spot on for the price point. While the hotel may be smaller than some of the larger luxury brands, it delivers something that many big-box hotels often struggle to provide: authentic, genuine hospitality.

Park James is a charming, boutique hotel that provided very comfortable accommodations. It was easy to drive to from SF Airport, and valet service made parking very convenient. I would stay there again the next time I visit Menlo Park.

The stay was awesome the food and drinks were great. Especially the charcuterie board! Eleni was a delight!

Park James is 10/10. If you are searching for a beautiful space for an event, look no further. The hospitality and attention to detail is what separated Park James from other Venues we visited. Krizthal from the start was amazing. The night of the event Daniel was very hospitable. Lyle the GM is one of the best. The hotel staff from check in to managers in front office were outstanding as well.

Super high ceilings in bedroom make it feel like you are in Europe. Great location. Very restful. Awesome indoor/ outdoor work out room. Oak and Violet Restaurant great for a quiet gourmetmeal

We had a quiet, restful weekend stay. Perfect place to unwind after busy days in Silicon Valley.

Very friendly staff - Sabina is being extremely helpful - I was trying to watch ChromeCast but was having tech trouble connecting HDMI to the TV, Sabina got it all worked out. I stayed for 4 days here for business trip, and she has been helping me with all the deliveries, etc. The hotel has great location as well. Will recommend to anyone.

What impressed us most was his patience and willingness to answer all of our questions. He took the time to make sure we were comfortable, informed, and had everything we needed throughout our stay. Excellent hotel in a great neighborhood which is easily walkable to downtown Menlo Park and for the more adventurous Palo Alto. The rooms are extremely clean and modern. All staff I encountered from the housekeepers to the car valets were professional and engaging making me and my husband feel right at home.

Traveling with family can sometimes be stressful, but our stay at the Park James Hotel was exceptional from start to finish. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early, which immediately set the tone for a relaxing stay.

We had a fabulous meal at Oak + Violet — the cocktails were creative, the bourbon and scotch selection was extensive, and the overall dining experience exceeded expectations.

What truly stood out was the service. Every interaction felt graceful, attentive, and genuine. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and much larger than expected. Lyle and his team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and truly special throughout our stay.

If you are looking for a great hotel in the Menlo Park area, this is an absolute must-stay. When our travels bring us back to the area, we already know where we’ll be staying.

Loved my stay. Modern and upscale. Surprised at how high the ceilings were in the room, felt luxurious. Bed was very comfy, Im quite picky with sheets and theirs are excellent--buttery and soft smooth sheets. Eleni at the front desk was wonderful, she was helpful and efficient, and cared that I had a great time in Palo Alto. Wonderful experience. Wouldnt stay anywhere else if I come back.
