Pros:

I loved everything about the MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle. I originally booked primarily for the convenience of having a washer/dryer available, but that pales into insignificance when compared with everything else the hotel offers. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, excellent English, and willing to provide insights into any questions I had. The location is superb, the room was beyond what I was expecting - large, spotlessly clean, with all the facilities you could want. The information available from the hotel for attractions nearby was hugely appreciated. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Kyoto (and I am definitely coming back!), and would highly recommend the MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle to anyone considering visiting this amazing city.

A highlight of our trip to Japan, out of the many places we stayed, this was our favourite.

Loved our stay, would recommend for families
Pros:

Loved our stay! The family apartment is huge and it was so nice closing the door between the living room and bedroom. There's a decent size kitchenette and living room, and a huge shower room and bathroom/laundry area combination. The entryway was the biggest we had in Japan which is helpful when you have four people going in and out, and there's a decent amount of storage for clothing including hangers and drawers, as well as a cupboard under the TV. The in-room laundry worked like a charm and we used it nearly every day. We also used luggage forwarding and it was easy and smooth. The staff were wonderful, always helpful, cheerful and friendly, and provided lots of information for whatever we needed. I was leery about taking the bus but it was so easy and there are several routes that are just outside the hotel, so getting to and from was not a hassle. Bonus was the water station (with options for different temperatures) by the front desk for guests to fill up their water bottles.

Cons:

The mattresses were pretty creaky and lumpy. The vacuuming wasn't overly thorough; removing the carpet would have been better for cleanliness. It's a bit of a walk from any grocery store and the corner market, and about 15 minutes to walk to Nishiki Market, but I'd stay here again.

Pros:

The rooms at Mimaru are perfect for families, we had two interconnecting rooms with plenty of space and sleeping options for a family of 5. The hotel is in a good location, with short walks to transport and to Kyoto castle. There are plenty of food options nearby, including supermarkets.

Appartamento spazioso, luminoso, pulito, ordinato e funzionaloe.Grande area tatami con tavolino, sedie e all' occorrenza futon, comodissimo per noi che abbiamo viaggiato con una bimba di due anni.Staff disponibilissimo e carinissimo, la nostra bimba ha avuto la febbre durante il soggiorno e le hanno fatto un pensierino con un bigliettino carinissimo.La zona della struttura è comodissima per spostarsi, e comoda per i servizi.

Great hotel with a kitchenette and laundry!
Pros:

Our room was clean and well-appointed. We love the shower room and Toto Washlet. The in-room washer/dryer was a huge bonus as we were able to run the laundry while we were busy sightseeing. The location was excellent. The best part were the staff, who were kind and helpful during our stay.

Pros:

Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe this place. The apartment was incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everything was excellent—from the facilities to the overall experience. The staff were attentive, kind, and always ready to help. The location is also very convenient. Truly spectacular in every way—we would absolutely stay here again!

Excellent. Would love to be back again.
Pros:

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Staying at Mimaru for 4 nights really goes very well.
They have a really clean room with complete kitchen appliance, and the most important is a washing machine in the room that could wash & dry.
Actually, Mimaru hotel is one of my wishlist for staying at Japan. Really happy it came true.
As for the staff, they are so nice and very helpful. They have staff from indonesia, so we dont have a difficulty in communicating.
Really hope we could came back again to Mimaru hotel.
