The hotel & grounds are really lovely , it is in a nice position about a mile from bars restaurants etc , the staff here are all brilliant nothing to much trouble , breakfast was good also
The hotel could do with a little updating especially the bathroom , but still good value for money
The location the view the breakfast was really good decent rooms

Lovely hotel. Great staff. Pool freezing. Could not watch tv as set to low for sound. Additionally tv hung inches from next rooms bed. Very poor fitting position. Food basically inedible from restaurant. Meal deal from Sainsbury's far better and much cheaper. No apology for poor food on complaint.
See above.
Nice view clean and tidy

Great hotel and annexe rooms
Our room was not quite ready when we were told we could go to the room but was quickly rectified .
Veggie breakfast was very poor choice
The hotel was visually stunning
The staff were friendly, welcoming and polite
The pool was lovely and big and the fact it has towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash to use
The evening bar/restaurant staff were amazing and the food was lush
I loved that they had a dog menu for a meal or bar snacks and it was reasonably priced
The room was far too hot and the window wouldn't open far so we used the fan in the wardrobe and we noticed it was not running at full function so my husband took it apart and noticed it was caked in dust so much so it made a pile on the floor so we asked the cleaner to hoover it up for us which she did and she was very apologetic.
The breakfast was ok very greasy. We felt we were rushed and that the waiting staff were ready to pounce and take your plate away once you put your cutlery down.
On our last night we had dinner in the restaurant again and I ordered peppercorn sauce and did not get that it was gravy and once we pointed it out they apologised and said they would get a new one but again it tasted more like gravy but by then I was nearly done eating and felt disappointed.
The beds were far too soft it felt like being on a bouncy castle and the headboard moved and rattled any time we moved so didn't have the best sleep.
Very nice room super friendly staff
Breakfast was good however missing mushrooms
Full of character with a lot of original features kept. Stayed here as a child when it was Hammerbank. Well located in a very quiet area, with wonderful views from our room. Staff were excellent, very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Receptionist with blonde hair (didn’t get her name) was lovely and Fernando in the restaurant was exceptional
Loved it all
We were booked into this hotel as a Xmas gift, which was much appreciated. And the hotel did not disappoint. Easy to locate, and in beautiful surroundings. From the moment we booked in, we were made so welcome, and our room, was in an annexe and was so spacious. Plenty of tea and coffee facilities, and cosy and warm. We decided to eat in the hotel at night, the menu is not to big, and could have done with more of a choice, but what we had was enjoyable. Plenty of seats to lounge around in , in relaxing areas, and have a drink. Breakfast was excellent. We would most definitely stop again.
Great location and very doggy friendly especially the dog run area
The swimming pool room was far too hot. In fact the whole hotel was too hot especially the bar area. Everyone was complaining but it didn’t make a difference.
The breakfast was all self service and did not change every day.
The staff at breakfast were particularly dismissive and all they were interested in was clearing the plates even whilst still eating
Nice big room with coffee machine and opening windows. Lovely to have a pool on site.
A bit dated, but nothing surprising for a building of this age.
We were greeted by Amy on arrival who was extremely helpful and friendly. She told us where everything was and about the pool facilities too. The staff are very friendly. The housekeeper Ananda is lovely and very helpful as were all the housekeeping staff we met. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The English breakfast was a little disappointing. The hash browns are very hard, there were no mushrooms, a personal choice, I know. There is a coffee machine but the latte isn't very hot.
Very kind and helpful staff, the rooms were really spacious and we had an amazing view.
The free breakfast was actually very tasty.
The evening meals are pre-made frozen microwave meals, and of the lowest quality. We were not charged, the food was taken off our bill.
