Some parts of the hotel were really nice grounds lovely too
Breakfast ok but had to ask for eggs only scrambled on display. Coffee machine broke machine broken on day 2-3 Bathroom needed complete renovation really poor shower curtain mouldy.
Position and clean.
The most bland, dated and spartan room.
Although we were told we were upgraded it was a very basic room. Tea/coffee making facilities were good.
Friendly staff, room, food, hotel, POOL, location, had a fantastic time.
Nothing
Good location. Staff were lovely, very helpful. Breakfast was great.
Room was too dark . Room was bit cold. Eventually heat came on
Good location, staff pleasant and helpful
Bit tatty in decor, limited staffing on occasions ie bar not always attended. several occasions where not all dinner options available
Good size room with useful lobby are for shoes, etc. Good size bathroom. Good quantity of food available at breakfast. Good swimming pool. Robes provided. Useful parking area by entrance to room. Good location for busses to get around the Lake District.
Unfortunate hot water breakdown not fixed for over a week. No hot water on first day. Intermittent subsequently. We understand this was subsequently fixed and we had hot water on our very last day. Housekeeping slightly variable/ inconsistent (day-to-day cleanliness, replenishment of tea/ coffee, changing of towels, etc). Swimming pool changing/ shower areas could be better.
Good disabled access facilities.
Very good location and view of lake Windermere. Beautiful old house.
Food offering was ok, but could have been better.
It was fairly close to Lakeside and in a nice area
It was a bit too far to walk to the main lake and town and at the top of a steep hill. Nice walk to the lake edge though but to go into town we had to drive and the car parks were quite expensive. I didn’t see a bus stop so don’t think it was on a route as we would have taken the bus
Beautiful setting, cosy bar and dining room with lovely staff. When a problem arose with our room, they were responsive and made sure we were moved and recompensed.
Everything except one thing..,
Dogs in the dining room and people feeding dogs in the dining room…
Off lead area, reception lady very friendly and helpful . Very disabled friendly . Nice evening meals .
Pre arrival email messages were responded to quickly and on arrival arrangements had been understood. Friendly staff.
Little bit dated in terms of furniture and there were no fried eggs at breakfast.
Lovely stuff , very helpful, thanks excellent location
I liked everything about this hotel
Nothing
Breakfast was good. Location was beautiful.
Appalling food for an evening meal. It was slop - I was disgusted and sent it back. I could not believe a restaurant meal could be so awful. Presentation and content were abysmal. They should be ashamed to offer it to anyone. We were tired and hungry at the end of a very long day's driving, and I had booked it as a treat: unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. we were thoroughly disappointed
In addition I had to ask three times for more linen and to have our bathroom radiator looked at. Could still not get it to work.
Staff were lovely, pool was brilliant
Nothing
Location was good, staff were helpful and friendly, room was a little tired but had nice clean bed linen and towels changed daily. Tea, biscuits and water refilled every day and breakfast was good.
Day 2 and there was a party that went on till early hours and the room we were in was at the front off the stairs so no sound barrier. It may have been better if the room was on the main 1st floor corridor as that had a door between the ground and 1st floor.
