Superb location; super helpful staff! Perfect location for wandering around the old quarter.

BIG SCAM, DONT BE FOOLED!!

When we arrived at the hotel, it looked very small and enclosed, we were having second thoughts. And as soon as we walked in, the lobby reeked of a filthy smell, the guest couch had tears and the paint was peeling off the wall. Instead of a door mat, there was a dirty white bath towel laying on the floor scrunched up. Staff seemed to be nice and helpful at first but then started their scam, apparently something was wrong with our room and we couldn't stay there. (Mind you this was around 1 am and we had 2 tired children as we just came back from a roadtrip). They then proceeded to rebook us at their other hotels in their net without permission and acted like it was our fault there was something wrong with the room we booked. When we went to their other hotel, the rooms and location were even worse so we returned to Trang Trang Premium Hotel to which the staff refused to refund us, after an hour of persuasion, they finally agreed to refund us but at the loss of %7 to commission and had kept urging us to cancel our booking before refunding us while acting like they were the victim. By the time we left the hotel, all other surrounding hotels were full and had no vacancy. The manager is unwilling to resolve the problem and staff are money hungry and ready to scam us! Don't waste your money and save your time!

The staff was amazing! They were friendly, knowledgeable and had great service. I would stay here again because of the exceptional people. The hotel was good, and I enjoyed the room.

Basic and no frills hotel with an extremely nice and helpful staff. Location is centrally located to everything.

The hotel was in a very good location (i.e. old quarters) Everything was accessible. The hotel staff was always wiling to help and informative. WE had a good time in Hanoi including visiting the night markets, train street and the water puppet show. The room had a good view of Hoan Kiem lake.
I would have given 5 stars if not for the room size and bathroom taking a long time to clear the water after a shower.

The Hotel taxi didnt turn up !!! So we took a Grab taxi which was half the price the hotel wanted. The rooms and hotel did not look like in the photos, Very grubby ans tired. The balcony was the size of a small shower tray. We paid extra for a balcony with a view of the lake. Needless to say no view. They then tried to bill us more than what we agreed with Hotels.com. We moved to another hotel. They have billed my credit card. So trying to get money back for that

Amazing friendly staff.

Sadly, Trang Trang has gone downhill since i stayed in 2018. I was excited to arrive, but was instantly let down. Chipped paint and a poorly maintained lobby appearance was a hint. Then, we were not given the room we paid for. I pointed this out, and was told repeatedly that it was the "same class" of room. They insisted it was the same size although I reminded them I had previously stayed in the other rooms of the hotel. So this was clearly untrue.I noted that you can see the square footage of the rooms on the app. Finally, they told me a guest was already staying in the room I booked. Also, the room we stayed in was cramped and aging with chipped and yellowing paint. The bathroom was absurdly small and uncomfortable and the bidet had a significant leak that kept the floor wet. I withdraw my previous recommendation and agree with the current negative opinions. Stay at San Grand across the street. It is better by far.

The hotel was very run down and tired looking..cracked tiles,old bedding and pillows grungy bathroom
Our “city view” was a deserted delapitated building across the street
The area was a bit rough
Also we had no hot water
The staff were extremely nice and helpful though

Great location in the heart of the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Stayed in the week leading up to Tet and it was the perfect location. Room was simple but comfortable. There is a rooftop bar but if it’s windy and cold give it a miss

Nice and cozy hotel in a very busy are of the old quarter! Only 20 rooms in this hotel and the staff are very friendly who go out of the way to make sure we knew what was going on in the area during Tet.

I thought I had already wrote the review, but as to reiterate, everything was great except the condition of the property. With a little paint, polish and care, they could provide a 10 experience.

We really enjoyed our stay, the only problem was the condition of the property. It wouldn’t take much for them to invest in a little paint and some new towels and sheets. They were very well worn. With just a little effort, it could be a 10 facility. The location was excellent, near everything you could possibly want and the staff went above and beyond making sure we have everything we needed. I would definitely stay again, if I ever came back to Hanoi!

We enjoyed our stay at Trang Trang however the condition of the property and room was not quite as expected. The bathroom was quite musty and the room was small with no window to outside .

Staying here made my trip most enjoyable.. Philip, Tracey and the rest of the staff made it a pleasure to stay at Trang Trang. I could not thank them all enough.
The location of the hotel is so central making it a breeze to get around the city.
The room itself is clean, bed is comfortable and have the amenities required. Room size perfect for one person, however they also have larger rooms if travelling as a couple or group.
Also breakfast is included.. and the offering is suffice.. you can have local foods or have them make you a eggs on order.
If you are interested in doing day or overnight tours... just have a chat to Philip he will be able to sort you out.
If I return to Hanoi I will definitely be going back to Trang Trang Premium Hotel to stay.

This is a beautifully renovated French style hotel.
For $25. It is a great deal. However,
the a/c struggles to put out any cool air.
The neighborhood is loud and strewn with trash.
Probably somewhere I would have stayed when I was in my 20’s. Definitely not bringing my wife.

This hotel was FANTASTIC. It was our first time in Hanoi and the staff could not have been more helpful- gave us a local map and showed us different locations we could take a trip to, food recommendations etc. For the price of the hotel we were not expecting much but it completely blew us away. Breakfast was included and was fab - varied buffet type breakfast with lots of choice. The room was very modern with a comfy bed, TV, minibar, hanging space for clothes and free toiletries The rooms are on the small side but perfect fine for a couple. You'll see in Hanoi this is quite normal and a lot of buildings are on the narrow side.
The location was fab too, we came in quiet season and they upgraded us to a lake view room with a view of Hoàn Kiem Lake which was perfect
Cannot recommend this place enough :)
