Element by Marriott Houston Katy

The location

I’m from New York, so for the price, this hotel is acceptable, especially since Element is a lower‑tier Marriott Bonvoy brand. I expected something closer to a Courtyard experience, but this property fell below that standard.Our room had only two towels and no additional bedding in the closet, so we had to go downstairs to request everything. The kitchen had no dishwashing items, and the bathroom outlet didn’t work, forcing me to blow‑dry my hair outside the bathroom. The second room had no hairdryer at all.The handicap setup was unsafe — the chair provided was placed on top of the bathtub, causing water to spill everywhere and making the bathroom slippery and hazardous. We also had four people sleeping in one room and two in another, and the king‑bed room had a broken outlet.In the morning, no housekeeping staff were available in the hallway, so we had to go downstairs again for towels. My nephew also saw insects flying around the breakfast area, which was very unpleasant.The staff were cordial, and the location next to Costco and Katy Asian Town is excellent. However, the hotel needs significant improvements in amenities, maintenance and cleanliness.

The cleanliness of the room was severely lacking, especially the bathroom. Also, the shower leaked across the bathroom tile while in use, making the tile floor unsafe. The housekeeping services here are woefully understaffed. In a six night stay, we had to twice ask for fresh towels, and for our room to be cleaned. In that entire time, I saw only one person with a cleaning cart, on only one morning.
Although the front desk staff were cordial, the condition of the room far fell below what was expected for the price paid. Not Marriott standards at all.
Did give two stars because it was well located.

The staff was great, housekeeping kept my room stocked and clean.

It was very comfortable. Easy to find. Rooms are appointed well.

Oh m g!! Our stay at the Element was phenomenal!!! I'm the bride, and I needed to find a hotel for our group to stay at for our local wedding. I wanted to find a hotel that was nice, but not crazy expensive, and the Element SURPASSED my expectations. I worked with Joselyn the whole time and she was amazing!!! Always responsive, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure the stay was perfect. She even got little goodie bags made for our guests with waters, a snack, and a drink voucher for the bar. As the bride/groom, we got our room upgraded as well and she left us a sweet basket and note. It was so thoughtful! The free breakfast was also divine!!! It included an omelet bar, yogurt, traditional breakfast servings, coffee, tea, etc. The central location was perfect for our stay as well and easy to find for guests. It was clean, and beautiful! I would highly recommend this stay for a one-off night, but especially for groups, because it was perfect!!!

The breakfast wasn't very good. It was better The last time I was there. I settle for cereal and milk. The sausage wasn't cooked well, the gravy was cold and biscuits were not great. The juice was fine. There need to be improvement. That's was I look for when I stay.

Breakfast was perfect, had different options. We stayed at the Katy location. The staff was very respectful, polite, and ready to help.
