The Monkey Tree by AvantStay – Mid-Century Modern Oasis with Pool

Love this hotel, comfortable bed and our room had a little kitchen! Thank you for the coffee, tea and creamer selections!

This hotel was amazing! I would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Despite of no staff being there all the time we had everything we needed without needed help. They had a grill which we used and all tools were available. They had a game room with a lots of card games, photo booth, karaoke, television, microwave and a refrigerator to store things meanwhile being there. They had a sauna, a cold plunge, hot tub in and nice area. The pool was amazing and clean. Room was clean and well kept. I would definitely stay herw again!

The perfect place for a 30 girl Bachelorette! The photo booth was such a fun surprise and having an industrial sized kitchen made it easy for us to not have to leave the hotel. I would recommend the buyout for any large group. It was ideal not having to deal with anyone besides our group of friends.

The Monkey Tree was the perfect spot for our big group trip. The rooms are spacious and the common areas are gorgeous and well-maintained. Communicating with the management was smooth. The commercial kitchen, the long outdoor dining table, the unique rooms, the rec room equipped with a photo booth, and the cold plunge were all big hits with our group. It’s an unforgettable stay experience!

Super cool decor, good location, and great outdoor setting. We enjoyed hanging out by the pool and having friends over for a cocktail to show off the fun mid century modern style. The hosts were easy to communicate with by text and very responsive. We will return as a couple and maybe with friends.

Wonderful property. Would stay again. Pet friendly. Safe. Clean. Peaceful.

I love how private and quiet this place is. Convenient when you have a dog too!

I arrived at 6pm. There was wasn’t any staff onsite for check in. This would not have been so difficult had I not been sent 7 long text messages and 5 emails prior to check in. As I read through all these messages I tried calling the customer service # posted on the main gate and pressing the Ring camera doorbell button. No response from either until 5 hours later. This is more of an Airbnb and not a hotel.

Showed up near midnight after a drive in from LA. Very easy to find, a couple of tries at the keypad had us into the “compound” and then simple enough to get into the suite.
It was an early morning as you can hear the flights landing and taking off from the airport but that seems minimal given the laid back vibes of The Monkey Tree.

The unit was clean and spacious and had everything we needed for a quick weekend away.

Lost a star because we couldn’t access the common room that was advertised. But the pool and surround amenities were great, it was a quiet weekend so it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

Would definitely stay again, but next time we will stay longer!

This place is adorable and the room was spacious with a small kitchenette. Its perfect for a weekend getaway. I loved that it was small but very well kepted. Definitely coming back.

Cute facility with great retro vibes. Comfy even on a record setting hot day (124F) and the pool was cool and relaxing. Facility is quiet and close to town (5 minute drive). Lots of grass for our pup as well.

We had one issue with internet which was quickly resolved via text. Alfred also came onsite to support quickly after which was fantastic. We’ll certainly come back when it cools down.

Was great my first time in Palm Springs wanted to stay there cause the history of the place loved it !!!! Will be back so happy I chose this one will prob be the only place I stay when I go to Palm Springs!! They had a Photo Booth u can take and email the pics to yourself for free Rooms are big it was 109 and the ac worked good I got room 4 the higher the room number the closer to the pool u are I don’t swim so it was perfect location

The hotel and room were easy to access with the codes sent to me. My room was mostly very clean. I appreciated that there were several coffee pods as I need at least two cups every morning. The only downside for me was that the AC was quite loud, but had to be on...I mean, it's Palm Springs after all.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. I had a serious air condition issue during my whole stay. On the second night the A\C gave error and started to not cooling. I couldn’t tell anyone as the property is a non-staff hotel. When I woke up I called customer care and they sent a technician a couple of hours later in the afternoon. He said he reset the a/c and said now is okay then left. The room size is big and the ven when the technician said it’s okay, there was really not perfect cooling in the room but I said myself it’s okay it’s better than having no a/c. However in the same night the a/c gave the same error and stop cooling again. It was a nightmare to trying to sleep without a proper air conditioning while 110 degrees heat wave in PS. I called customer care again on my checking out day yesterday. They said they are very sorry about all this inconvenience and they will get call me very soon. Since yesterday no-one called me actually. Hotel has nice decorated big rooms I really liked it when I first arrived. But air conditioning made my stay quite uncomfortable under dessert heat.

Unique approach to hotel/motel

Fantastic hotel in beautiful Palm Springs. Highly recommend The Monkey Tree as an authentic slice of desert classic with a great pool / tub and sauna/cold plunge. Located away from the loud busy strip. Can’t wait to return

Very close to downtown and popular restaurants. Place was vintage, found it really cool.

Great spot to stay with a large party. Parking wasn’t an issue when we were staying. You are looking at approx. 10 standard parking space, 2 for accessibility, and about 2 for EV.

The suite we stayed was Presidential, it had 2 full baths which made me and my wife excited! Room was very colorful, lots of space. AC was blasting on cool which was a plus since it was almost 100°F when we visited.

Room and facility was clean, no foul odor or smell.

Easy to access, you have the main gate code and another for your room. The hotel does not have staffing active 24/7, so do note that if you need frequent assistance.

Going back to the location, it was 20 minutes away from the Cabazon outlets and less than 1 hour away from Joshua Tree National Park. Also a few mins away from Elvis Presley’s Honeymoon Hideaway house which was sadly now private property but cool to look at.

Facility was very clean and quiet. Our suite was very colorful and vibrant. It had two full baths as well on the Presidential Suite! I was impressed that the AC was already cooling the rooms since it was almost 100°F that day we went.

Check-in and check-out was smooth, will definitely be back with family or a group since it they have a very generous space by the pool area.

This location btw was very close to the cabazon outlet, koffi, downtown, etc. And was only less than 1 hour away from Joshua Tree National Park.

What a cool hidden gem in Palm Springs! This spot was such a nice surprise find. Rooms were simple and clean, and we loved the hot tub and pool/patio area. Elise and staff were friendly. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Great location, unassuming front entrance, enter into a literal paradise.
