Location.
Rooms very small , breakfast offered but no dining room. So eat in room
It’s a fab little hotel and we will definitely make it our go to hotel when we visit our daughter in Manchester going forward. The room was beautiful and the shower was excellent and easy to use (unlike most hotel showers). Our daughter lives in The Northern Quarter literally 2 mins round the corner so we will be back. The avocado on toast breakfast was also fabulous and bed was super comfy!
It was all lovely.
The staff were very friendly
Nothing
The decor is lovely, the staff were all incredibly friendly. The rooms are small but designed well. Lovely little extra touches.
The staff were very friendly
Nothing
Great location, clean and comfortable rooms with everything you would need. Bathroom had hairdryer, straighteners, curlers.
We also received a welcome prosseco and snack tray to have in the room or lobby
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Room was very hot but there was a fan provided
Quite frankly this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life. Makes Fawlty Towers look organised and well-run. I'll start with the positives: the room was quite nice. Now onto the negatives. The man who checked me in was the worst example of customer service I have ever experienced. He demanded I pay him £100 as a deposit. When I questioned why, he said it was in the terms and conditions and every hotel in Manchester does this. I said I had stayed in many hotels in Manchester and this was the first deposit ai was asked to pay. He was rude from the start and I almost left on the spot. But after a long journey I decided to stay. Big mistake. The sink was broken. The WiFi didn't work. Everytime someone used the toilet and the shower on the floors above the noise from the water pipes was like a hurricane. I asked for a quiet room and was put next to reception, hearing every person come and go all night. The area is noisy and the building opposite is derelict. They ask you to order breakfast the night before and also specify a time. I asked for 830am. At 8am the phone rang to say they had run our of eggs (well go and buy some from the shop across the street). I was offered a banana and a stale, cold pain au chocolate instead. They brought it 2 minutes later when I was in the shower, so 30 minutes early. What's the point of asking what time you want breakfast just to ignore it? Barely got a wink of sleep, and thought a shower would wake me up. The water dribbled out of the shower and wouldn't wash a mouse. No tea and coffee in the room; when I checked out they said I could have asked for some, but Basil Fawlty forgot to tell me that as he demanded I pay him £100. There's an information sheet in the room that states if you jave a problem, ask for the "duty manager". I asked twice and both times was told there was no manager.
There are so many better hotels in Manchester. Don't fall for the glossy photos. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

Mike
Good location
Great rooms
Fantastic staff
Good value
Lovely boutique hotel nice free nibbles and glass of fizz a bonus lovely bedding and shower plus really nice staff
Ground floor so outside noise and room was hot but the weather was exceptional
The Cow Hollow Hotel was absolutely amazing! So many great freebies to make the experience more special - such as prosecco and nibbles on arrival and milk and cookies before bed! The facilities were so comfortable and homely, and the hotel was in an overall great location, within walking distance to so many bars and restaurants in the Northern Quarter. The complimentary breakfast was also an added bonus. We would definitley stay again!
I have no bad comments
Convenience and welcome from staff
Nothing to dislike
Cool little hotel
My was unfortunately in the basement, which was very claustrophobic and damp smelling.
Was refused a different room because I used the shower.
We had such a lovely stay.
This hotel is very special and the staff are so attentive.
It helped make our son's graduation extra special.
Beautifully decorated and comfortable hotel; beds were good, room well equipped (bluetooth speaker appreciated, in particular). Staff were welcoming and the numerous small touches (welcome drinks, late-night snack, etc) were appreciated.
Minor things like minimal space to hang clothes and small bathroom didn't put us off for our one-night stay (but might be important for guests who are staying for longer). The small things that weren't in our room or that we couldn't find weren't important enough to prompt us to ask for them, but I am 100% certain that the staff would have responded very quickly.
