A nice pub stay, very close to Greystones beach and Sally’s Gap.
Pros:

A nice beer garden. The food was very good. The room had a fan and tea making which was welcome.

Cons:

Access to the rooms could’ve been made more clear - there were two entrances - we were taken the long way.

Das Frühstück

Cons:

Die angegebenen Parkplätze waren nicht frei da, wie wohl jeden Sonntag, Livemusik auf der Terasse war. Nach 1h Suche fanden wir dann einen Parkplatz. Die Koffer konnten wir nicht gleich aufs Zimmer bringen da das Restaurant, wie auch der Garten, voll war mit Gästen und wir uns kaum durchdrücken konnten, geschwiege mit Koffer durchgekommen wären. Selbst um 20 Uhr war es noch relativ voll als wir die Koffer holen wollten. Die Musik und die lauten Gäste verstummten erst gegen 23 Uhr.
Leider alles andere als ein entspanntes ankommen.

Personnel chaleureux, et agréable
Pros:

Le personnel de l’hôtel a été extrêmement à l’écoute, disponible et bienveillant. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour et avons beaucoup apprécié leur accueil. Le restaurant et le bar étaient très bons et bien fournis. Seuls petits bémols, qui restent très personnels : nous avons trouvé le matelas assez dur et les oreillers assez mous. Il faisait également très chaud dans la chambre lors de notre séjour, mais cela était principalement dû aux températures extérieures et ne relève évidemment pas de la responsabilité du personnel. Malgré cela, nous gardons un très bon souvenir de notre passage et remercions chaleureusement toute l’équipe pour son accueil.

Cons:

Le lit et les oreillers, mais c'est vraiment propre à chacun, cela put très bien correspondre à d'autres personnes.

Une bonne adresse
Pros:

Le petit déjeuner délicieux est copieux est très appréciable tout comme l’accueil qui est chaleureux. La chambre est très propre, décorée avec goût et la salle de bain est grande. Pub avec ambiance musicale locale et gastro pub délicieux : une très bonne adresse.

Cons:

Les oreillers sont très épais et très très durs : impossible de dormir dessus. Une veilleuse verte très lumineuse au plafond qui reste allumée en permanence et qui gêne la nuit (bien que les yeux soient fermés) car nous la recevons en pleine figure.

The mattress was exceptionally comfortable, but that’s where the positives end.

Cons:

1. The car park, we traveled for family event 3 hour drive to be unable to park in what they advertise as private on site parking, due to road been closed which is absolutely ok but never notified us when we contacted them about this they told us not our problem!

2.The bed was against a thin wall with a main entrance door in the hall on the opposite side so when someone used the door the wall vibrated leading us to have to move the bed away from the wall to only discover piles of dirt, a lone sock and a receipt dating back to May, which shows the bedrooms are not up to the level of cleanliness!

3. The bathroom had no running water in the sink. The ceiling above the shower had obviously mold and mildew which wasn’t cleaned.

4.Provided water in glass bottle appeared to be sitting there for a length of time that there was brown substance at the base of the bottle and when shook it disappeared!

The reason I am writing this review is due to the lack of staff available to raise my concerns to as we were instructed to leave our room key in the door when we were leaving with no official checkout taken place.
We are very disappointed with our stay at The horse and hound as they charged us €190 for the stay which we were happy with on the basis of what was advertised on booking.com.
This seemed to be the theme through the building as we had multiple family members who shared the same experience as us.

We had a lovely stay at the Horse & Hound Delgany.
Pros:

The location was perfect as it was close to where family lived. Staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful. Parking was provided which helped. We had a lovely stay.

Cons:

The music can be loud and can go quite late but you expect that at a pub so pack some earplugs.
