Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Kalamazoo West by IHG

Lighting was terrible. TV picture was horrible. Shower was so slick and being a senior it was concerning. Near an exit door (lesson learned) that slammed constantly.

I booked with online, and have NEVER stayed here before. I was told upon check in that they could not rent me a room and would not honor the booking. When asked why I was told the "Because the manager told me so". I refused to take that as an answer explain that I had NEVER been there before. All this happened why other customers stared at me, and my 6 year old tired girl was upset. Finally I got the front desk person to call the manager and send a photo of my idea to which I was told " Whoops sorry wrong Matt" After that I get the room key and head to the room. The Hallways where dirty, and smelled massively of marijuana. I get in the room, it is so dirty, sheets had burn holes, and debris in them, shower was falling apart, and dirty. And of course the room itself smelled massively of marijuana. I went to the front desk explained my issues, and was told they had no other room to move us too. I then told her we here leaving immediately, and that was unacceptable. We left found another hotel that was 100 percent better, and called in the morning to get a refund.

My car was broken into in the parking lot and there are no cameras

We checked in to the room & didn't have bath towels. Had to call for those. Hand soap in bathroom empty. Morning breakfast was disappointing unfortunately. Went down at 9:20 am & 1/2 of items empty & not refilled. Good amount of people in eating area saying the same thing. This was our 4th stay here & 1st time having these issues. 😢

I had a mobility accessible room, the floor in the bathroom was filthy, toilet ring was present, grab bars in tub : shower area were loose!

No end tables by my 2 queen beds and Toilet was clean but wouldn’t fill with water

The pool was closed, no notification. There was damage in out room, toilet paper holder broken, other things like that. The breakfast was bland and minimal and they ran out of essentials quickly. We had to go someahere else to eat breakfast again because it was so bad. Gym was also down. One of the elevators wasn't working. Every ice machine on every floor wasn't working. It just seemed like there was a very short list of things that were actually functional. It wasn't good.

There were stains on the nightstand table, some rubbish on the carpet. It was suggested to go to the restaurant located in the sister hotel, but the wait time there was awfully long, we waited for almost an hour for a burger.

I noticed that some of the pillows in our room has a strong odor, almost like someone who was sweaty had slept on it. It doesn’t smell clean or freshly laundered. Breakfast is advertised as starting at 7:00 AM, but when we came down around 8:00 AM, there was almost nothing left and the food was not being refilled. We expected the breakfast to be adequately stocked during the advertised breakfast hours.

The pool wasn't actually open and you had to walk over to the hotel next door to swim if you wanted to. The pool was incredibly dirty. The room still had a birthday balloon, decorations, and tape stuck all over the ceiling and above the window. The fridge/freezer had mold in it. The floors were not cleaned (there were crumbs, some black and brown spots on the floor and long black hair all over on the floor. This was probably one of the dirtiest hotel I have stayed in recently. I did talk to the desk when we got to our room about it being so dirty but it was 1130 at night and they said they could try moving us but they werent really sure.
