The location
The room had ajoining door and as Solo lady traveller at 2.30am the door was pushed against by 2 men who come into next room very scary 😪
clean room :friendly staff; free parking on site, nice towels, comfy bed, nice toilet paper, good breakfast, bar not too expensive. excellent location
everythibg was perfect
Location fantastic, parking good, manager and staff receptive and talkative in the majority.
Room was tired and dirty and had not been cleaned for a while with a thick layer of dust, stains on walls, carpets not hoovered etc. Informed the manager and he was very good, cleaned room to a better standard and offered us an upgrade to bed and breakfast.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Really friendly staff and locals
The location is quite convenient. Staff were friendly.
It took ages to get the room door key to work; inside there were only two plug points, both on the opposite side of the room from the bed. One with a multipoint adaptor plugged in, but that didn’t work. The shower didn’t sit in its wall mounting, so it only sprayed the wall, and it leaked because the screen seal was broken, also it suddenly became scalding when (I think) another room flushed its toilet. A glass light fitting positioned right over the bed nearly fell off in the night. There was no breakfast. The photo on the Booking.com page must be very old, as it doesn’t look anything like this now.
Good location near to the centre nice staff and
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing
The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk to the town centre and the banks of the beautiful river wye. It was affected badly by the recent floods in Monmouth so there is still some renovation work to do but it didn’t affect our stay at all. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and even though fully booked they managed to squeeze us in for an extra couple of nights. Our room had a comfy bed and everything we needed. Another big plus is the free parking on site.
Well my knees are not good so could have done with a lift. But really loved everything !
Good location, fair priced, comfortable and clean room
No negative feedback to leave
We like the location, price and staff.
We've stayed before, and I guess going back is the greatest recommendation.
All good, it's not the Ritz, but you won't be paying Ritz prices either.
It's clean and comfortable with a lovely welcome.
Great location, just over the old footbridge from the main town centre in Monmouth. Very pleased that it also has parking at the back of the hotel that’s hidden away from the street.
It’s a 2 star property, so expectations are low. However the biggest issue was that the toilet hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest with diarrhoea - specks in the toilet bowl, around the rim and above/below the toilet seat. Hygiene and cleanliness is equally required whether you are a 1 star or a 5 star property. Carpet in the bedroom wasn’t very clean felt like dirt or stones on it. Ledges in the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned in the corners, so overall really poor cleaning quality.
It also seemed like the Reception staff weren’t really expecting me - perhaps hadn’t seen the booking from booking.com early that morning. I’m guessing I was allocated a room that had not been freshly cleaned.
Cheap quality mattress on the bed, be prepared to feel every spring.
I had a room facing the front car park at the side of the hotel, but with warm weather I had the upper windows open, be warned that it gets pretty noisy with traffic in the morning as they zoom past. I had the fan on, so that white noise helped drown the traffic out a bit.
