Pros:

The twin room was a decent size and bathroom included a bath. The staff on reception was friendly and sorted out a problem with the TV remote without much fuss.
TBH the price was very good value. The location is pretty close to the main street in Monmouth

Cons:

Because of the price it would be harsh to be picky.
If pushed it's not possible to keep the window open at the front due to traffic noise.

A good location let down by poor accommodation. We won't stay there again.

Cons:

Monmouth was devastated by floods in March 2026 and the Hotel was flooded. The recovery has clearly been slow. Our ground floor room showed signs of being hastily redecorated to a limited budget. The beds were uncomfortable and the furniture was tatty. We had been advised 24 hours before that there was no meal service but fortunately there are a number of restaurants in the nearby High Street. I suspect that the ratings (on which I based my selection of hotel) had been made prior to the floods. Hopefully, the hotel will rise again but until then it does not offer value for money.

We had an email to say breakfast was not available due to flooding. The next morning breakfast was being served to others. The rooms are very basic for the price.

Good location
Pros:

Good location, just off the A40. Welcoming and friendly staff. Good parking.

Cons:

Shower was a bit cramped, but the shower itself was very good. Could do with curtains to block the light that comes in round the edges of the blind.
