We keep coming back to the White Rock Hotel, great location, lovely sea view from our room and the terrace of the hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast
It was very near to town centre and the beachfront, all by walking distance
Slightly tight spaces especially stairway
The staff were extremely friendly, loved the location too.
Unfortunately because the building is older, the walls are paper thin and the floorboards are creaky. And my neighbours were exceptionally loud so I didn’t sleep very well.
The staff were generally friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast. The bathroom in our room had been recently refurbished, and the shower was very easy to use. And we had a sea view!
We were there on an unusually cold two days, and we could not turn on the in-room radiator because the system had been switched off. The coffee and biscuits were not replaced correctly, and when we asked for more we got loads of stuff we did not need. The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment, and staying on the third floor we had to use a tiny lift.
Location perfect. Clean, but beyond doubt the making of this hotel is its staff. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. They go out their way to help .
Only small niggle was our room did have a slight toilet smell and was quite hot.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The evening meal was very nice and the staff at the bar gave some good information regarding the town and events.
The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice and reasonable price.
Great location we had a sea view. Lovely cafe bar area with outdoor seating.
As it’s an old Hotel floors a bit creaky noise can be heard easily.
A great place to stay central to the town
Very friendly staff who went above and beyond to help us.
Nothing.
Not quiet
Creaky floor boards never slept outside was continuous noise in
The shower
The bed was hard as a rock, the room floor slanted, had to hold on to bed in case rolled off, I kid you not, tv did not work, ask to change batteries, which we did , still could not change channel, parking was a joke, could not get in car park at back, filled with locals instead of hotel guests, no parking out front, and this was off season, had to park underground car park across st, and had to drag luggage up stairs, across busy street, anyway you get the hint
Location
Clean
Friendly staff, especially the reception staff
Breakfast was nice
The shower didn't heat up
Creaking floor boards outside our room (308) was bad. I felt like the wall was shaking as people walking down the slope
The rooms really need up dating9
Very helpful and fierndly staff, food and drink throughout the day at reasonable prices. The bar served real ale. Bus stop outside door, with regular service, including going directly to the train station. Plenty of seating areas both inside and outside (with a sea view) of the hotel
Staff were nice location is excellent
Narrow stairs not so good when you have a disabilit
The room was on 3rd floor with a sea facing view. A neat and tidy room, clutter free (no unnecessary cushions or decor). comfy bed. Great shower. Perfect location. On the whole much better than I expected. Will definitely stay again.
Nothing
Lack of fine touches for an expensive room. Tea facilities in a cupboard!!! Breakfast was extra and expensive and had to pay more for a flat white. Shouldn't have to pay for it in the first place when the room was £140. Bath had gouges in it and very dated. Staff had no uniform, dressed in jeans and t-shirts. Very unprofessional i think for such supposedly high end hotel.
The location was excellent, all staff were friendly.
Nothing
