Excellent. I'd go out of my way to come back
Pros:

I stayed about 3 years ago and this time, only recognized all the stairs and uneven floors. The upgrades to the hotel are fantastic. My room was clean and the bed and linen very comfortable. Nice, hot shower. Thanks.

Cons:

The stairs are tough to manage with a heavy suitcase. But it's an old building so don't know what you can do about it. However, a lovely young lady (student in Edinburgh) carried my suitcase to my room. Very much appreciated

Cons:

Evening meal awful. Waitress said. she woud tell kitchen staff but she never returned ,so when I went to pay bill told receptionist & no complaint through but deducted cost no bother! Apart from that all good

Staff exceptional.
Room very good: comfortable, didn't let any light in. Bed very comfortable.

Tiles in bathrooms need attention.

Pros:

Position. Very central. Large bedroom and comfortable bed. Good shower.

Cons:

No car park. Hotel looking tired and in need of decoration. Traffic noise off at the front.
