Umami hotel, puerto viejo
Pros:

Umami hotel is a gorgeous boutique adult only hotel centrally located in Puerto Viejo. The A/C and bed made the room very comfortable and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I will be staying here again on my next trip, I highly recommend this hotel especially what you get for the price!

Beware of Cancellation Policy
Pros:

I am out $500+. No I did not stay here and will not in the future.

This is my experience and probably should have know better. But other places may make accomdation such as a future credit, charge for only the first night or many other ways to make an accomdation.

I had to cancel a prepaid reservation 48 hours before arrival due to a documented medical illness. Unfortunately, the hotel's cancellation policy required seven days' notice, so I understood I might lose my payment. However, I contacted the hotel, explained the medical emergency, and requested a goodwill exception. Despite providing the circumstances, the hotel declined any refund or credit. I respect that businesses have policies, but I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility for a genuine medical emergency. Future travelers should be aware that this property appears to enforce its cancellation policy even in cases of documented illness.

Cons:

Zimmer war gut eingerichtet, aber keine Terrasse /Balkon und dies bei einer Suite!
Am Pool 4 Liegen für das ganze Hotel, kein Restaurant.
Haben online in Dollar gebucht und bei Anreise auch richtigen Dollarbetrag genannt bekommen, dann aber in Colon abgebucht, zu einem unbekannten selbstgewählten Kurs. Bei Rückrechnung waren es dann 40 Dollar mehr als bei Buchung. Geschickter Betrug.

Pros:

The hotel was very nice and the rooms were comfortable. The included breakfast was good and had a variety of options.

Cons:

The room was good but there was a lingering sewage smell throughout our stay that we couldn’t get rid of even with windows open

Nejlepší pobyt!
Pros:

Všechno bylo skvěle! Sem bych se určitě vrátila znovu! Opravdu milý personál, skvělá snídaně, bazén, pokoj skvěle vybavený a vše čisté. Byla jsem na nejlepší masáži v životě! Zamilovali jsme si pláž Cocles, dojezdově autem pár minut.

Ein Ort der Ruhe und schönem Design inmitten eines lebhaften Touristen Ortes… hier kann man gut entspannen und trotzdem die Nähe zu Meer und Ort genießen. Schönes Frühstücken, alles sehr nette und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Danke!

Prima hotel om rustig te relaxen en toch centraal om de omgeving te verkennen.
Pros:

Ruime kamer, mooi zwembad, rustig gelegen maar op loopafstand van strand en centrum met vele restaurantjes. Goed ontbijt met ruime keuze en vriendelijk personeel.
