Hyatt Place Sumter/Downtown

When you walk in it small wonderful beautiful inside and the lady that check us in was so nice and they can even make you a Starbucks coffee they are limited on what they can make but it worked for me vanilla iced coffee and it was PERFECT!!!! And highly recommend JI JI Chinese restaurant across the street AMAZING!

As a Sumter native, staying at the Hyatt Place Downtown Sumter always feels like coming home. Although I haven't lived here in more than 30 years, I return often to visit family and friends, and this hotel has become my first choice every time. It's become my home away from home whenever I'm in Sumter, and I look forward to staying here each time I return.

I also love being right in the heart of downtown. There's something special about strolling through the quaint streets, popping into locally owned boutiques, and seeing businesses that have been part of the community since I was a little girl. Downtown Sumter has a warmth and authenticity that's hard to find, and staying at the Hyatt puts you right in the middle of it all.

The hotel is consistently clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Cheryl has assembled an outstanding team. Jason, Loretta, and Mack, the security officer, are among the many people who make every stay memorable. They are always welcoming, professional, and genuinely happy to help. Their kindness and hospitality reflect the very best of Southern hospitality.

One more bonus—the food is delicious! Whether you're grabbing breakfast before heading out or enjoying a meal during your stay, the quality is consistently good.

If you're planning a visit to Sumter, I highly recommend Hyatt Place Downtown Sumter. It's a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff, excellent food, and the kind of genuine hospitality that keeps guests coming back. For me, it's more than just a hotel—it's part of what makes coming home to Sumter so special.

Perfect location for events downtown. Clean. Family friendly. And bonus is the excellent breakfast options! Really top notch!

The room was very nice and comfortable. Staff came in to clean the room which was great also.

Had variety and not crowed excellent selection of food

Wonderful staff. Clean and modern property. Normal breakfast for a free breakfast. The only downside is the Tavern next door was busy due to it being a weekend. People were hanging out in the parking lot behind the tavern and hotel.

The lady, Ieshia (spelling) at the front desk was awesome. Kind and bery accommodating.
