Stayed for 3 nights in room 201, a standard twin room- was concerned it was right next to the lift but absolutely no noise from the lift so all fine
Lovely friendly staff at check-in explained all the hotel's amenities
The hotel looks lovely, very well decorated, lots of greenery and very calming
Lovely addition is the guest lounge, sofas and tables/chairs plus free hot and cold drinks
They also have a roof terrace, a few bench/table seats but was great in the sunshine while we were there!
We stayed room only so can't comment on breakfast/ cafe
Good size twin beds
Seperate toliet and bathroom/wetroom with bath and shower. good shower and very nice complimentary toiletries
USB by beds for charging phones and reading lights
Also had fridge with water pitcher you can fill from the guest lounge on the ground floor, kettle and mugs.
At reception there are cupboards with free toothbrush/hairbrush,vanity sets, plus nightshirts to borrow!
There was a bit of road noise for us, it is a busy road, but very close to Marutamachi metro station, very good for public transport such as buses and the Imperial Palace just a few steps away.
They kindly minded our luggae for us after check-out while we visited the Palace
Would definitely reccommend and would stay again
Everything walking distance, a clean a quiet haven for us after a long day of exploring. Staff were wonderful and attentive and the cafe downstairs was a real plus.
Great hotel in Kyoto
Enjoyed our stay. Lounge areas are wonderful!
Nice staffs, very clean room, good food and have laundry option
Rakuro Hotel in Kyoto
We loved the hotel concept of fawn. There are beautiful plants and beautiful atmosphere in the lobby and guest lounge, featuring herb water with ice for the guests. The room was nice but not too spacious for a larger family. It was equipped with a mini fridge and kettle. Windows brought light to the room but no views, so it felt somewhat enclosed. The bathroom was very spacious and nice, with a separate toilet stall. The toilet/bathing spaces are separate from the room itself but still private within an overall enclosure. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, eateries and convenience stores and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
This hotel never disappoints. This is out second time staying here and every time we have a pleasant experience. The rooms are nice. The bus and subway are mins away. Many spots such as dt Kyoto, nishiki market, and the shopping arcades, are walkable. The lounge area is beautifully decorated and peaceful. The roof top patio gives a nice view of Kyoto.
It feels like you are a local
Love my bedroom and it was wonderful stay! Great staff and location
Tranquil and Zen atmosphere hotel with as much peace and relaxation. The price is definitely not work the stay as you are paying for an experience that you can get elsewhere for a much better price, but all cost is associate for the location and city, one I found as more hype than truth. However, the establishment is cleaner than most and the decor is elegant and relaxing. There is just a lot of little things about the room, amenities, and social rooms that can be done much better, especially for the price.
While the staff was impeccably kind, professional, accommodating, and always helpful, there are a few things to be wary of before booking this hotel.
First off, the double rooms are VERY small for the price.
Secondly, the A/C was barely adequate for the outside temperatures, and couldn’t be adjusted any lower than 20C/ 68F— might not sound that bad on paper, but the air was very stagnant unless you used the very loud dehumidifier as a fan. Outside temps were 95F +, 70-90%humidity.
Lastly, and most irritating for a hotel of ANY kind in 2025, the WI-FI was terrible—very slow, and frequently would simply disappear. I had to use my eSIM data to check email, etc. and my partner had difficulty doing work from his computer. There is a lounge with good connectivity, but come on— It’s your vacation, you want privacy and comfort with your internet!
I will say, the location was as expected, convenient to the subway, konbini, a nice grocery store, and several restaurants. And again, the staff was excellent in every way, they were commendable!
We loved our stay at the Rakuro hotel in Kyoto. It is a beautiful space with lovely rooms and peaceful communal spaces. The lounge is a lovely place to sit for a while after a busy day in Kyoto. The staff is kind and helpful as well! We enjoyed breakfast one morning as well. While it was a bit pricey it was nice and filling.
We love this hotel great service
Room was small and no dressers or closets to put away clothes. Hotel seems new and well maintained.
We loved the relaxing guest lounge!
The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's right next to a train station, a convenience store, and a Sukiya, which was very practical. The room itself (room with bathroom) was also a positive—it was comfortable, and clean.
However, there were significant downsides. The hotel is on a busy, noisy street, and you can hear the traffic clearly from the dining area. The biggest letdown for us was the "free" breakfast. We stayed for five days, and the menu was exactly the same every single day. The choice was limited to three sandwiches, a small vegetable salad that was sometimes slimy, and a potato salad where the potatoes were still raw. The lukewarm corn soup didn't help. After two days, it became very repetitive.
We also found the atmosphere to be overly strict. You cannot sit in the dining area outside of meal times without ordering something; we were asked to move to the guest lounge almost immediately. Overall, while the room was good, the issues with breakfast and the rigid rules made our stay less enjoyable.
Love the lounge area. Just across Kyoto Imperial Palace. Near public transports.
The hotel was so clean and the staff was super friendly and very helpful. The guest lounge was a very peaceful place to relax and unwind after a busy day. As a bonus the entire hotel smells amazing!
Not much to do around the area. But hotel was beautiful and staff was extraordinary!
A great hotel in the perfect location.
Near the subway and a short walk to the Nikishi Market, it ticked all the boxes.
The staff were helpful and friendly
