We had to book The Westin Perth on our last 2 days here so that we could be close to our 2 daughters whom stay about 100 meters from Westin.
From the moment we got down from our car, The Conceirge Team was so helpful with our bags and even allowing us to park our car right in front of the lobby till our checking in procedure was completed, after the checking in our bags were in our room in less than a couple of minutes,a very well organized Conceirge Team Westin has.
Westin Perth has a fantastic lobby environment and checking in was a breeze.”PAULINA” from the front office Team was helpful and truly experienced, never took long in the process she understood our concerns and importance.
The moment we stepped into the room we had a few challenges, though the room was huge and well equipped as it should be,we noticed that our room floor and furnitures had some small pieces of dirt around the corners. My wife had to wipe down the bed side tables with wet wipes personally before we could leave our mobile phones to charge,we did not really make big fuss over it as we thought the room attendant could have just overlooked that particular table. When we got back from our dinner and after our shower while about to tuck into the bed we realized the bed sheets and pillow cases had a very strange smell like it was not changed from the previous stay! Though we know through experience that this does not happen in such a well branded hotel but we could not explain the strong smell coming from the new sheets and cases, even our 10 year Son started complaining about the strong smell and we had no choice but to spray some of our cologne on the bed sheets as it was already pass 10pm and we really didn’t want someone coming to room at that time to make things good! I am very sure Marriott housekeeping has high standards on checking how rooms are been issued to guest but WAS this the case on our room? HOUSEKEEPING has to completely improve their standards on handing over rooms to checking in guest,I believe the room was not checked before handing over, shows lack of supervision. Simple amenities like toothbrush was not placed on our amenities tray though vanity kit was there though. The very next day after our room was cleaned by housekeeping YET our amenities which were already used like the cotton buds were not even replenished!!! Come on HOUSEKEEPING, I am sure you can do better than this, makes me wonder did we just checked into some Highway Motel.Sadly but true, we have been to more that 500 over properties of Marriott but this was one of our worst room experiences as sleeping well matters to us and I believe to ALL likewise.
Sincerely hoping that the leader of Westin Perth could look into this matter really seriously and get Housekeeping’s Action right.Thank you.
Room No.2506
Everything
First time stay at The Westin Perth ands we were not disappointed. We booked a King Club Room, room 2822. Check-in was easy and informative. Our room was spacious with a king size bed which was so comfortable and fantastic pillows. There was a small round table and chairs and a couch. We overlooked some gardens, could see the WACA, Crown and the Swan River. A large wall mounted TV, electronic blinds that automatically came down when you entered the room. The bathroom consisted of a separate toilet, a large separate walk in shower, single vanity and storage for your toiletries.
As we had a club access, the club was a very god size, with different types of seating from lounges, to tables with comfy seating. The club had good wine, spirits and sparkling. Food was excellent, something different every night. There are no children allowed in the club after 6pm. Many people tried and they were politely told to leave, but they could be accommodated in a separate room. This, I am thankful for as the last thing I want is kids running around when trying to have evening drinks.
We used the pool, it wasn’t too cold, just refreshing. Plenty of sun lounges facing around the pool.
The hotel is in a good location, close to shopping, cafes and restaurants. There is a café downstairs in the lobby with outdoor seating.
Its location in the city as we were celebrating a special birthday.
Our room rate included breakfast which was okay. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
The room for the price was very average, in fact a bit tired.
It was clean but the bedding was worn and uncomfortable. If you rolled over in bed you risked falling onto the floor.
When we arrived from the country we had expected to have a shower, however the water to our room was brown. After running it for five minutes it did not improve so I went back to reception. I was told that they had some plumbing issues and to leave the water running. (Shame they didn’t tell us at check in.) Left water running for 20 minutes before it improved but we didn’t shower. Next morning water was clear but the hot water was only lukewarm warm.
No hand soap at basin.
We had a great stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean and had great views. Would highly recommend it and would go back.
Very disappointing for a repeat traveller
Check in perfunctory like a motel
Hotel still beautiful but major maintenance issues. No water in entire hotelfot hours
Then airconditioning goes down at 7pm just as we are leaving
Asked fo change rooms
Credit to hotel managet for trying to mollify but clearly not acceptable for a Estin
I have mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel.
Check in was difficult as the staff could not understand me and I them - when I asked questions they either did not respond properly with an actual answer or they just made up something. They were also not very customer service centric - it felt more like a 2* star hotel check in. It's great when hotels offer some diversity and employ staff from mixed nationalities to help out people from all backgrounds.
Rooms were nice, beds were comfortable.
There was a lounge to sit on and relax in the room which is always a plus.
No ventilation in the bathrooms so the room always felt musty when we walked in.
When I tried to call room service or reception the phone would ring out and the message would say that the staff were busy so it never connected.
Buffet Breakfast at Garum was outstanding - the staff and the food was exceptional.
Friendly staff, nice room and great quality room service food.
