The staff is always - ALWAYS - extremely helpful and friendly. I'd hire all of them.
Pros:

Staff is excellent. They run this place.

Cons:

Breakfasts...I don't even stop. Not even for coffee. Head to Scooters. I don't eat white sausage gravy on biscuits.

This motel has evident care by new owners but still needs to work into a groove.

Excellent dog friendly area. Spacious room.

Trouble With the doors, which were hard to open, even when the card worked. The television was also a challenge.

Local Motel, very nice
Pros:

Bobbie at the front desk was great and very welcoming. The rooms lock with a keypad, so no fumbling with a key or key card to get in. The bed was fantastic and very comfortable. The pillows were just right, size and comfort wise. The bathroom was a little tight, but the shower was very refreshing with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The body wash, shampoo and conditioner were nice.
The bath towels were a little "rough" but absorbent. No in room coffee but 24 hour coffee in the lobby. The TV was good size and easy to understand, having built in ROKU for streaming channels (personal login is automatically erased at checkout) and also has DIrecTV. Breakfast was good with sausage patties, eggs, biscuits & gravy, cold and hot cereal and waffles. Plus a few other grab and go options. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Cons:

Vending machine out of order. If we were not two doors from the lobby, no coffee pot in the room would have been more of a problem. Room refrigerator and a/c were not on when we arrived, which being pre-booked and paid, would have been nice.

Pros:

Staff was great and they allowed us to be a little flexible on check out with our baseball game schedule. We have stayed in Des Moines/Ames 4 times within the last year. This has been our best experience. We usually travel for youth sports and stay cheap since it is literally a night or two. However, this has been the best. Breakfast was very comparable to a Quality Inn style. The cool thing is this hotel has some little sayings and banners around the hotel. Seems cheesy and goofy but it made me laugh and put a smile on my face.

Cons:

There is nothing I could bring up that we did not like.
