rude staff. the room wasn't ready eventhough we came late afternoon. the room was so dirty. we had an ant invasion in our bed and got bitten at night. the pool was really dirty
the accomodation is just next to a buddhist temple and they have also a night market in some day a week..The Karon Beach is very close by this place and reachable by walking distance. It is open to waves during moonson, it is a long beach, the area is quiet a local place of Phuket.
This little hotel is in a fab location - our room was cleaned and bedding changed every day it was spotless - the lady who owns it is lovely and very helpful too - we had a lovely holiday 😊
We were a bit concerned due to some of the previous reviews but are so happy we chose this hotel for 5 days. The hotel is clean, check in was efficient, pool was clean, bed was firm and comfortable. Located about an 8 minute walk to the beach. We would stay again.
cheap, you get what you pay for. quiet, off the main road.
The staff were freindly enough but the rooms wernt clean out of the 4 hotels we stayed in on this holiday this was the biggest let down infact it was the only let down. The location is good. But the rooms are awful.
We were aware it would be a budget stay but this was way below expectations. Worn, discusting & dirty. We checked out after 5 minutes.
The hotel is set back a few streets from the main drag. Quiet and comfy get the room that opens up to the pool it is great to be a le to go from pool to room in less than 1 minute. Great location to the WED/SAT night market catch it just right you wont be dissapointed its walking distance to the Beach, shopping and the Temple. The guy at the desk was super nice and called to confirm our tour for us on his personal cell phone. We would stay here again.
Hotel was very dilapidated and in need of a refresh. The hotel room door had a hole in the bottom and was 'repaired' with a piece of paper. On the last night noticed ants coming in through the bathroom! Would not stay again and glad only stayed there two nights. Would not recommend. Only positive was the staff were helpful in arranging a taxi to Rassada pier.
Place was clean and close to everything.
This hotel is a gem. In Karon beach area which I prefer to the busy Patong beach. This place is owned by a nice Italian man. They were building at the time we were there. But I really didn't hear that much noise. They made sure they didn't start until 10am and finished by 3. We stayed here in September, during low season. It was also raining everyday for a short time. We paid $12 Canadian a night. For this cost I would stay here again for sure. But if the price goes up more then $20 a night, I would not. The room was big and ok. But the bed was the worst I have ever slept in. So hard, omg. The bathroom was awkward and had never properly been scrubbed. The caulking had turned black in areas that are always wet. The door had a 1.5 inch gap under it. Allowing bugs and lizards to get in. I rolled up a towel and put it there at night. We had pool access which was nice. A little place to sit with old plastic stained chairs. The pool needs a ton of work but still did the job to cool down and refresh. There is no room service but there is a great local restaurant directly in front of the hotel across the street. They will bring you anything right to your room. Check in and check out was easy. They let us choose what room we wanted. The area was great. Tucked behind the Karon Temple. There are local street food around and cafes. I loved the area. Prices were cheap! All in all, they are in the middle of renovating and for the price I would go back. As long as I pay around the same.
the room cleanliness was good, but the main entrance of this resort doesnt look good, there was new building or expansion of the resort goin on, the entrance walking to the place is rocky and sandy. the staff is nt even wearing uniform, they jst wearing shirt and shorts. the worst was they have dog at the front door, which keeps barking and chasing my friend, and sometimes follows to our room.
the place could have be better if the environment looks is with cement not rocky or sands
For the price you are paying you can't complain. The owners are very nice but the property could definitely use some refreshing. There's building going on next door so it's very loud from that right now.
Baan Chaylay was a breath of fresh air in the middle of a very touristy area of Phuket. A super cheap hotel that still offered a very nice little pool, great balconies on the rooms, good service and great amenities in the rooms- aircon, hot water kettle, fridge, and a safe. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. And, my balcony on the corner room looked out over the jungle- a beautiful sight to wake up to. Also, Baan Chaylay is on a quiet little street near the temple, but within just a 5 minute walk is tons of restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies and every other kind of shop you could want. Also, the temple it is located close to has a massive market on certain nights (might be Saturdays).
Very cheap hotel so can’t complain about anything but probably worth spending a bit more for something more comfortable.
Staff very helpful and friendly however which isn’t a given in hotels double the price.
Once you find this place it's amazing. You get to the base of a hill and then go up a steep driveway, which opens a vista of views. My room had a balcony with a view overlooking the pool with many trees, much greenery, and fresh air. Very quiet and peaceful. The manager is charming and her office is in a small building with only windows for walls. Quite a unique place, a little bit difficult to find, but well worth it.
Worth of money
This hotel had everything I was looking for, clean and comfortable room, refreshing pool and walking distance to the beach and Karon town with an abundance of dining options. Being away from the main road it's also nice and quiet. Not the most luxury property in town but plenty of character, and clean and tidy for the price. I was very happy with it.
Karon as a town is a great option, nice beach, lots of restaurants and close enough to Patong to check out the madness without constantly being in it.
