Absolutely superb place to stay, great base for walking the South Downs
Pros:

Suberb hitoric building in the sublime historic middle of Midhurst. This ancient building is a delight. There was ample outside seating to enjoy the Spring sunshine. Great range of beers and ales. Their cocktails are all expertly mixed. There are only a few rooms, but all are very nicely furnished, very clean, warm and supremely comfortable. There are five or six options for the breakfast (included in room price). We both had the Swan Breakfast, essentially a full English, all freshly prepared and expertly cooked. The level of service is excellent, even when the pub was busy, it didnt take long for one of the staff to come over and offer service. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended

Cons:

This place is pretty much faultless. My only very minor gripe is that the window in our room wouldn't open.

Great location and lovely people but underwhelming otherwise.
Pros:

Great location and very friendly staff.

Cons:

Very noisy from the bar below and the road outside the window. W
We were unable to have breakfast in the accommodation because we were the only people staying. We were told to have breakfast in a nearby cafe instead, which would be paid for by the hotel. Not ideal and quite disappointing.

Pros:

Staff were amazingly helpful and polite and everything was done with a smile

Cons:

The breakfast form was filled out the night before serving , and although certain things were missing after asking for extras etc it was still on top form and delicious

Comfortable stay with lovely staff!
Pros:

Staff were extremely friendly. Food was great - I had the in house breakfast but also had dinner one night downstairs. Room was cosy, clean, nicely decorated. Worked perfectly as I was attending a course nearby.

Cons:

Bathroom was a little less nice, but I think goes with the age of the building.

It was really disappointing. Felt like a lot of money for a pretty grim room.
Pros:

Really comfy bed, and friendly staff.

Cons:

Staff tried to be really helpful, but if I'd known before the morning that breakfast was going to be in the deli across the road I would have made different plans. (The deli was great by the way.) The room felt dirty, needed a good clean and probably a new carpet. Light bulbs missing.

Pros:

Right nice place to stay! Very old pub with rooms, quaint, and the food was all excellent! Ita not a luxury place, I’d give it an 8.4 overall, but the price was right and we loved it.

Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. Great value. Would/will stay again.
Pros:

The situation and the super helpful staff. Great breakfasts.

Cons:

There was no dinner service for all three nights we were there. The chef was sick. Real shame but a problem that couldn’t be sorted.
