JOALI Maldives

After our holiday in the Maldives was coming to an end, we decided to stop by Joali Maldives for one night on our way home, just to check out this magical place we had heard so much about.
Where do I even begin…
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and introduced to the island by our amazing Jadugar, Raai. He made the orientation engaging and inspiring, and throughout our stay ensured everything felt effortless — always anticipating our needs and making things happen before we even had to ask.
We were then taken to our water villa, which was spacious, very private, and cosy. A special thank you to Nawaf, the Rooms Division Manager, for making sure everything related to our villa and comfort was perfectly arranged, including our special requests.
Very quickly we realised one night would not be enough, and we extended our stay for four more days.
During our stay, we were invited to sunset cocktails with the management — one of the highlights. We met General Manager Shifaz, his Assistant Adam, as well as Nawaz and Anas. We kept seeing them throughout our stay, always attentive and making sure everything was perfect. Many other team members also contributed greatly, even if we didn’t catch all the names.
The culinary experience was outstanding. Under the management of Alito, all four restaurants delivered at a high level. The variety and quality were impressive, and Baka was always nearby with great recommendations — thank you again for the special cocktails that you kindly offered to us.
We also really enjoyed the dishes prepared by Sous Chef Gamze, especially the shashlik — so tasty that we even asked for the recipe.
Sommelier James was excellent — knowledgeable and attentive.
Overall, the experience felt warm, personal, and almost family-like.
We would wholeheartedly recommend this magical place and will surely come back.

Where do I begin? This place is pure magic! A new level of luxury. Location: gorgeous! Rooms: so tastefully designed, attention to detail is extreme, hygiene outstanding, beautiful furniture, large private pool and direct turquoise sea access… it leaves nothing to wish for! The property: stunning! Extremely well kept, stunning architecture, 4 restaurants to chose from, bar, pool, art… it has it all!

So far so very standard to be expected from any type of top end luxury resort. But here comes the twist: the staff. Let me repeat: THE STAFF!

Every guest gets a personal butler. He will welcome you directly at the jetty, give you a tour of the property, organise your restaurant itinerary, arrange for a wide selection of cushions, bring you to your villa, have snorkelling gear ready in your size, be your Uber driver, and do the check-in/out for you in the villa. In our case, Raai was our personal angel, a true Mr. Magic! Nothing he didn’t make happen for us, no wish remained unanswered, he REALLY made the difference. Thank you so much for all your efforts! Delivered in such a distinguished and calm way.

The level of hospitality, service, warmth, smiles, competence, skill, attention to detail, passion and friendliness is breathtaking. Joali manages to take hospitality to a whole new level. Not a single request or wish we had was ever met with a ‚no’. The entire management team invests hours of their time every day to look after the guests. They connect with you. Get to know you. Remember any preference you might mention during a conversation. And use it to please you, in such a unique, thoughtful and elegant way. Just when you thought there is no way the previous attention can possibly be topped… they find another overwhelming gesture stealing your hearts! You don’t feel like a customer on this island, but like a family member. Absolutely everybody is 100% committed to the guests happiness, every day, every second of your stay. Special thanks to Shifaz, Julien, Alito, Kapil, Gandip, Petitbrahim, Uchu, Mustafa, Tchau, Ali (Groot) and everybody else I failed to mention for making this stay so special, so unforgettable, and so close to our hearts. The other really outstanding point to mention is the cuisine. All 4 restaurants are top notch in their own right. We expected excellent food, but were still surprised to the upside. Head Chef Kapil and his team are all incredibly talented, passionate and industry leaders. Only the very best will barely be good enough. The quality, the sophistication, the wide variety of flavours, every single dish we had was a masterpiece. We experienced special meals especially prepared for us, according to our taste and preferences, prepared with love in an overwhelming quality. Gamse, Jarnail, and all the other team members: bravo for the level you have achieved! And thanks so much for spoiling us with your creations during our entire stay!

Last but not least… Ebuti (Peti‘brahim), part of the Tuhu (levante cuisine) team. Your kindness and endless efforts to spoil us rotten will always remain in our memories. Thank you so much!

In every luxury hotel, the experience is normally over when leaving the entry door. Not at Joali! After leaving the island, we were pampered and fully looked after in their own airport lounge waiting for our long haul connection flight. A nice touch and truly enjoyable. They will take care of your luggage, serve you fine food and drinks, and you can freshen up with a shower. Things like this really make the difference.

To cut it short: the Joali team have created something magic on this island. Yes - it comes at its price tag, but once you get to experience it, you’ll simply fall in love - we sure did! So much indeed we will not even research alternatives when returning to the Maledives.

Congrats to the entire team for creating such a top-end luxury experience. We will happily watch you grow further and firmly establish your name as a benchmark luxury brand in the hospitality business. Inevitably.

Insider tips: book directly with the hotel, not via an operator. It has a multitude of perks coming with it. Also: get the half board option! Even if the pricing logic seems odd… you’ll thoroughly enjoy and appreciate it! Thank me later.

Joali was amazing, food was exceptional, water villas have a very nice design and are very specious. The outdoor private pools in the water villas are very big. Even the drinking water is subjected to double osmosis which was very important for me. Hotel was perfectly clean and the service was done with excellent to the smallest detail. The whole hotel crew at Joali was very nice and helpful. The overall hotel experience was fantastic. Our butler was Sholpan, very helpful and the best one in the whole resort. She fulfilled all our “whims” in a matter of minutes. Definitely will come back.

He anticipated our needs before we even asked, always with a smile and so much care. Whether it was organizing special experiences, arranging last-minute requests, or simply checking in to make sure we were happy, he made our trip feel effortless and extra special.

My wife and I had an incredible honeymoon at Joali Maldives, staying for 7 nights. It was truly the best experience we’ve ever had! The staff here is absolutely amazing - they go above and beyond to make you feel like royalty. The food is incredible, and all the servers and hostesses are so friendly. Utu was especially warm and welcoming. They even remember your name and what activities you did the day before! Our meal at Saoke was the best sushi and sashimi we’ve ever had! They truly care about you and make you feel like family. Our butler, Shaanté, was especially exceptional. He was always there to help us with anything we needed, from new fins for snorkeling to a GoPro for our excursion. Every time we left our bungalow, the housekeeping crew would come by and make sure everything was tidy. The happy hours were amazing, and our bartender, Trevo, made the best watermelon margaritas or “Joagaritas” we’ve ever had! DJ Alisa knew how to set the mood with the perfect tunes, no matter if we were relaxing by the beach or dancing the night away. The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking. There were the most beautiful fish and corals right outside our beach bungalow that you could see with the masks and fins. We went on a snorkeling excursion to see dolphins and sea turtles - memories we’ll cherish forever. The main island is a tropical paradise that you can easily explore on the bikes they provide. They even gave us a farewell gift as we were about to board the plane. My wife cried as we left. They really make you feel like family. I can’t recommend Joali Maldives enough. Thank you Joali! We spent our honeymoon at JOALI Maldives, and it was truly the most unforgettable experience we could have imagined. The island is pure paradise, a stunning place so magical, luxurious, and beautiful that at times it almost looked unreal. JOALI has the best luxury overwater villas, our villa was private, spacious, and perfectly designed for a romantic getaway. But what made our stay truly extraordinary was the incredible team who made us feel genuinely cared for every moment. Our jadugar, Saeedh, was a true magician, he was amazing in every way and made our honeymoon feel effortlessly special. A huge thank you as well to Youushau, Alito, Kapil-Mura, Ak-Mura, Nawaz Mohammed, Shiraz Hassan, and all the wonderful staff, you were all absolutely amazing and made us feel like family throughout our stay. We also enjoyed a delicious and relaxing massage, which was simply amazing and added to the sense of pure indulgence. JOALI truly has the best staff, whose warmth, kindness, and attention to detail turned our honeymoon into something beyond perfect. The food was exceptional, and every activity, from snorkeling to sunset moments, felt beautifully curated just for us. Choosing JOALI was the best decision, we couldn’t imagine a more perfect, luxurious, dreamlike place to celebrate our honeymoon. Perfect honeymoon! The luxury water villa at Joali is fantastic! I really love the design of the furnitures and the overall style. Every staff on the island is very friendly. The beach dinner is highly recommended—especially romantic for couples. Finally, a big thank you to our butler, Abby Chen. I would rate 100% to her.

It was one of the most amazing trip in our lives and we travel A LOT! The resort is beautiful, the facilities are clean and amazing, but what truly made our trip so memorable is the amazing staff. Everyone is so warm and welcoming you really feel like at home. The word “NO” does not exist on this island, everything is possible! Sameen, our butler was nothing short of amazing. He made so many little surprises during our stay, made sure we were taken care every single minute of the trip. Our little boy adored him. The housekeeping was exceptional, the room was always made, sparkling clean! The FB manager, Alito was so thoughtful, every single night he checked on us to make sure everything was up to the standard. We had a wonderful stay at Joali to celebrate our daughter’s second birthday, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The entire team was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making our family feel cared for throughout the trip.

A very special thank you to Abby, our butler, who went above and beyond in every way. She anticipated our needs, handled every request with grace, and added so many thoughtful touches to make the celebration unforgettable. From arranging noise-cancelling headphones for our daughter on the (very noisy!) seaplane, to organizing beautiful surprises in the villa – including sandcastles, balloons, gifts, and decorations using photos from her birth – she truly made the experience magical. She also coordinated fantastic excursions for us, such as dolphin watching and a submarine trip, which our daughter absolutely loved.

We were equally impressed by the restaurant teams across the island. The food quality, the variety, and the consistently excellent service made every meal a pleasure.

Overall, Joali delivered an extraordinary family holiday filled with personalised touches and heartfelt service. We can’t wait to return.

Our Jadugar Nouha she is extremely nice and kind! The best Jadugar ever! She helped us a lot and respond very quickly. She did the best for us. We liked her a lot. Nouha is really really awesome’ we really enjoyed our honeymoon!

5 stars are not enough for the level of service we received from Jupiter！She was, without a doubt, the heart and soul of our Maldivian paradise experience. She has a sixth sense for knowing exactly what you need, exactly when you need it—whether it was a cool drink by the pool, a last-minute snorkeling trip, or simply great conversation.

Her recommendations were always spot-on, and her cheerful presence brightened our every day. She handled every single detail seamlessly, allowing us to completely unwind and immerse ourselves in the vacation. If you are lucky enough to have Jupiter as your butler, you are in for the treat of a lifetime. We are already dreaming of our next visit!

This trip brought me and my lover a very rare trip. The food, service, room facilities and other things on the island make us happy. Our jupiter housekeeper is very responsible and can meet our requirements. If I have a chance, I will definitely come again.
