The Dower House Hotel

Neil & Rosemary were very friendly and lovely when we arrived and during our stay. Our room was as excellent with a large bed, bath in the room and TV, etc. The lounge where the bar is was lovely and breakfast was all local. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again

The owner Neil was friendly and welcoming on our arrival. The bar area has modern funky furniture and plenty of bright colours. We would like to go back. Rosemary was friendly and chatty when we left. Thank you both

By far the best hotel on a week long tour of Hampshire/Dorset/Devon. We stayed in a variety of places (including a huge and quite fabulous High-Victorian mansion in the New Forest) but The Dower House was far and away the nicest hotel in every way. Spotlessly clean, beautiful rooms, everything immaculate, wonderfully helpful, friendly hosts. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

It wasnt cheap but it was excellent value.
Everythjng was right and nothjngbtoo much trouble, wevhad a wonderful weekend.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room is spacious, clean with tasteful decorations. My son especially loves the heated swimming pool. Staff are very helpful and offered to open the pool earlier and offered to late check out so that he can have a swim before we left.

A very nice small hotel full of character and in a beautiful setting and convenient to lyme regis. See and countryside views from the room. Lovely gardens. Friendly owners and staff went out of their way to make sure we had eventing we needed... the owners checked in with us at breakfast each morning. The 3 course table service breakfast was selectable from a menu. Classy but not pretentious.

Our stay at the Dower House was special to us. It was everything you want in a hotel.

Charming bed and breakfast style hotel only 4 minutes to downtown Lyme Regis by car.

The property:

My kids LOVED the pool and the huge flat green lawn to run and play on.

The building and grounds were clean and comfortable.

The room:

Our family of five stayed together in one large room at a reasonable price.

Food:

We got takeout for dinner and a.nd ate it on the back deck. The property has a bar, so we were able to buy a beer and wine to enjoy with dinner and by the pool.

Breakfast was in a charming dining room and everything was delicious.

Family friendly:

They have a cot and bedding for babies/toddlers, as well as a high chair for the dining room.

The owners/staff:

Super friendly and helpful yet non-obtrusive. If you need anything you just ring a buzzer and they come out to help.

I would LOVE to stay here again. It's a gem.

Lovely hotel and the owners were really friendly and always happy to help.
Just a little niggle about the price as we had to pay extra on top for the kids (so price was as good as we thought).
Other that that it is a super place and beautiful surroundings.

We simply loved the Dower House Hotel. Everything, the warm welcome from the hosts, the lovely grounds, excellent room and traditional breakfast was exactly what we would want from a break away.

You need a car if you’re going to stay here because there’s nothing around.

We had a fantastic few days at Dower House. The rooms are beautiful, the food was outstanding and we couldn’t have been better looked after. We will definitely be back.
