Greeted and made to feel welcome. Although we were early. We had soup for lunch whilst we were waiting. Evening dinner menu a bit limited, what we had was good, although a little pricey, served in the cellar bar. The hotel itself is in need of a bit TLC. Good position for walking on Chesil beach. An excellent venue in the summer as there is plenty of outside seating.
Lovely location. Easy parking. Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good food and drinks.
Room was comfortable and well equipped but the decoration needs refreshing.
It was hard to speak to anyone or get a response to messages before we arrived
The Manor has a lovely Conservatory which you can eat in so yo are able to enjoy the countryside views. Not much atmosphere as it was very quiet but to be expected. All areas seemed clean. Service was prompt. The barman had a quirky sense of humour!! The four of us had the Sunday Road. Personally, I had the Roast Beef, tender meat but the whole meal could have been hotter. Another of us had the Pork Belly some of which was very tough. However, we all enjoyed our meal and would not hesitate to visit again.
The location is stunning , atmosphere very welcoming. Front of house / chef was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Fantastic Sunday roast. Great wine selection. Would definitely return to taste more fabulous food on the menu !
Excellent welcome by the staff team. The team worked hard throughout our stay to ensure we had a great break. The hotel is brilliantly located a short walk to the beach and great sea views from a number of the rooms. The food was tasty and plentiful and the rooms were comfortable.
Nothing really.
Fabulous position, a warm welcome & we even got shown to our room. The room was huge with a large comfortable bed & lovely views towards the sea. The hotel had that individual & old fashioned charm & didn’t feel like.a chain. Food in the bar that eve was excellent with a cosy atmosphere. Breakfast in the dining room was also excellent & you didn’t even have to make your own toast. We really enjoyed our time here & would highly recommend.
Great location close to the beach. Hotel room was spacious but spoiled by the heating being intermittent (to be fair we did not raise it as a concern at the time) and the carpets were very stained. Tea and coffee facilities in the room but you had to walk down the corridor to get the milk. The staff were excellent. In particular Jordan who checked us in and hosted the quiz. And the two gentleman serving breakfast. The food was excellent. They have a large terrace which in the summer would be so nice to have a drink or dine outside but being winter we skipped that! I think some tlc is needed for the rooms and carpets replaced in the corridors. Overall service and food was excellent and we enjoyed our stay.
Service in the restaurant was poor and had to wait for our table though the restaurant wasn’t busy and walk in customers sat in the bar and were able to order straight away. We then had to wait 45-60 minutes for two simple starters seeing walk in customers finishing their mains. No apologies were given and there was lipstick found on the glass of one of the drinks. After leaving the next day I noticed we’d had unauthorised charges made for drinks we didn’t have and over a week later I’m still waiting for a refund and again little apology given.
delightful hotel with friendly helpful staff, will definitely consider returning. Ate in the restaurant which was lovely with good food and wine to match
Lovely roast with all the trimmings together with great service and a lovely location and view. Will definitely return
Staff were wonderful.food superb
Lots of steps if you have mobility problem
The staff: so welcoming, efficient, and ready to help in any way possible.
Great location close to the water. Easy to get parked and checked in. Less than 5 minutes walk to the sea.
It's a beautiful place and the food was outstanding. Ambiance is cosy and service brilliant, everyone was welcoming. Only two negatives though, prices are high and it is definitely not disabled friendly which I think should be highlighted boldly on their website. I will definitely go again but will have to leave mother at home.
The full English was acceptable, I’ve had better. The view from the dining room was lovely as was the lady who greeted us and brought tea. The caller bar was very nice as was the conservatory/dining room and outside seating areas. The hotel has potential but needs money spent on it. Nice towels and the bed was changed during our stay which was nice but unnecessary, thankfully, as it was hot, there was a fan. I understand air conditioning was being contemplated. The hotel was sited with beautiful views and plenty of outside seating.
We had a small basic pet friendly room, it was tired and needed a careful coat of paint as did much of the hotel. Some of the male staff appeared rather unkempt though most were helpful and friendly. I wished the dark, old/antique furniture had a polished shine, it lacked the feeling of care I’ve lived and stayed in old places, I know how hard it is to bring and keep them up to scratch. Good luck with that, this place deserves it. I say this as hopefully helpful criticism. 👍
The only thing we loved was the location
To start with our room door handle was broken , window frame haven’t seen a wash cloth for ages and little windowsill still had tea cup stains from previous guests ,bed headboard was covered in dust, bathroom vent surroundings peaking of the ceiling badly , THE most uncomfortable bed- mattress was like we slept in water bed
Excellent location and hotel grounds and garden very well kept. Warm welcome on arrival. Room/ bathroom very clean and tidy with everything working. Tea, coffee, biscuits and water provided. Breakfast nicely cooked with good selection.Whilst portions a little on the small size, toast, pastries, yoghurt and fruit more than made up for this. Fish and chips for dinner very good. Would stay again
A bit of a wait for service during busy periods in bar/restaurant. Maybe more staff required at these times.
Nice breakfast, good location
Small cramped room with mismatched furniture, tired bathroom. Nothing like the sea view doubles pictured on the website
