AmericInn by Wyndham Cloquet

I’m surprised Wyndham hasn’t pulled the AmericInn franchise from this poorly run hotel. It was poorly maintained as you will see in the photos. Paying full price, and having many positive experiences with other AmericInn hotels, I’m surprised and disappointed. This doesn’t measure up. I should have read reviews before booking the room. I’m one of many with serious concerns. Don’t stay here!

The filth, mold, mildew, dead bugs. I have always loved the AmericInn line, but this was horrible. I was offered a $35 or $37 discount, on one night and an air purifier for the room. I didn't even care. I checked out the evening I started to see all the issues. Due to horrible lighting and NO access to sunlight, there was no way to actually see the issues until I used the flashlight on my phone. Gross. I expect a little dust and what not, but nothing to this point that is actually hazardous to someone's health!

It is a little dated, but we did fine. The breakfast had a good selection.

It took 10 minutes to convince the desk clerk that I had a reservation.

Parking was convenient. AC worked fine when we needed it.
Really appreciated the 1st floor room.
Having the Perkins nearby was a pleasant treat...

This is the second American property we stayed in the
last two months. The color scheme ... don't like it. Hallways very dark ... both properties. Who is your
designer? Poor taste.

Shower tub area had mold

just okay all around, property needed some attention but not many options around the area. Breakfast was good with an attendant refilling constantly.

I sent pictures to the manager of mold around the bathtub, the door being taped on the outside of the door and inside of the door damaged, also the stains in the sink. I can’t believe we stayed in this hotel and then had to book for 2 nights at the cost of $500.00 for two nights!! The only thing positive was the staff were very friendly. I sent the manager two emails with pictures one she said she didn’t receive and the next email she never replied. No offer for a refund or an apology for the room. Brenda S

The morning after my stay, as I am taking off the sheets off the bed to get ready to check out. I saw that there was a giant nasty stain on the mattress, that covered more than 1/4 of the bed. If I would off seen this when I got there, I would have never stayed there. I did let the office know and I am expecting a call from the manager. I am never staying there again. Very disappointed!

Nice place to stay. Staff was amazing and really friendly.

Stay was great, although we were disappointed that the hot tub is no longer usable and this was not disclosed.

Hallways needed cleaned and updated

Freezing cold in lobby day and night.Nice pool and sauna
Good service at front desk.
Thin walls, old beds and interiors.

The bathroom shower was moldy

Short walk to perkins, near the main road and easy to find.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good in terms of going to nearby tourist sights and driving into Duluth for the day. Humidity built up in the room and all our clothes felt damp -- better ventilation would help.

Very helpful and friendly staff.

Only negative is dim lighting at sink - made it hard to shave. otherwise all else fine.
