Earl's Red Colombo

The room seems quite square-shape and user-friendly. The TV works but not many channels to tinker with. Shower room’s water-draining is not fast enough, with water seeping out over the Barely-existent blockage while i was showering. Bed is soft and fine. One cockroach spotted, though it seems holiday staff already cleaned hard.

The hotel is new and the staff was friendly. I booked a Deluxe double bed for 2 and it was not enough space. When you shower in the bathroom all the water runs everywhere in the bathroom. There’s no barrier that stops the water coming into the toilet area. It’s located on a very busy road. Had a hard time falling asleep because of all the noise from the traffic and construction on the road at the time visited.

Very good facilities, near to main road. Reception is very small. Friendly staff

I have stayed here with family for 3 days. Front office staffs were friendly and helpful. Room amenities included Table Lamp, Extra sofa, LED TV, Coffee Maker, A/C, Fridge, Wardrobe, Safe Locker, Hot Water and Toiletries. There is a Cargills Food City Super Market right across the street where you can buy almost everything. As it is situated on a busy road, you will get Tuk Tuks or Buses easily. Even a rail station is nearby. ATMs are available with in walkable distance. Most of the Colombo city attractions were easily accessible from this place in a Tuk Tuk (with in almost 6-7 Km radius) The Check-in and Check out formalities were pretty easy and fast.

The only things that would have been better are -
1. Despite Sri Lanka supporting both round pin and flat pin electrical sockets, this hotel carries only flat pin sockets. However, a socket converter is available cheaply at the Super Market across the road
2. Being a city hotel, the surroundings are not so scenic. The hotel just sit on the side of a busy street with a small lobby and literally no car porch. Parking is also limited. However it didn't bothered me much as anyway I was not traveling in my car to Sri Lanka :)
3. There are no great restaurants nearby though you have some options available

Overall a pleasant experience to Sri Lanka.

The staff were late for everything checking in and out, asked me to pay extra charges although nothing was mentioned, very slow in doing all requests.

i had very bad accident while we were sleeping a part of the ceiling fall off on us and when we reported that they only said they are sorry for what happend i wanted to complain that for an authority but i needed to catch my flight i had no time. it was terrible experience i would never recommend anyone to stay there.

expedia i will recommend to remove the hotel from your list as the you not deserve it.
