Pros:

When we arrived, the hotel did not have power. The rooms were very hot. It was unclear how long the power had been turned off. It could have been days. The resort was large but there we were the only group staying there. My travel companion was bitten by bedbugs. The staff tried hard but we ended up leaving after one night.

Great place to stay!
Pros:

Lovely, lovely lodge. Rather dark walkways, but nice, spacious rooms. Food great. Breakfast staff were amazing. Loved the baboons entertaining us as we ate breakfast.

Pros:

This hotel was acquired by a new owner in 2012 and has undergone renovation. There used to be hippos in the water around it, but none now. Not a bad thing as they are pretty dangerous animals. Still lots of little monkeys. It is a good stopping off place on the journey between Nairobi and Mombasa, close to Makindo, an interesting ethnic melting pot of a town. There is presently no clear sign for the entrance to the hotel. Look for the petrol station on the west side of the main Nairobi-Mombasa highway and the entrance is immediately to the north. Do not follow what Google Maps says as it will take you on a jaunt to nowhere around the back side of the hotel.

Pros:

The room was nice and clean. It would have been nice if there were screens to open windows or air conditioning. The pool was a little dirty but the layout is very nice.

Pros:

Great stop and rest from Mombasa-Nairobi trip with good pool to get also kids tiered. It is quiet and located in very nice gardening with lots of birds resting too, I guess. The spacious rooms make you just feel light and ready to take a moment to hold still. Typical Kenyan friendliness.
Its not a 5 star hotel, but some great Kenyan inheritage feeling. I will stay again there on my next car trip Mombasa- Nairobi, when I ger reasonable room rent deal

Disappointing, Incompetent Staff and NO HOT WATER!
Pros:

This hotel is incredibly disappointing, the staff at the front desk were very rude, couldn't speak clearly and had absolutely no idea what they were doing and have no customer service skills. The man serving in the restaurant, and the staff taking our bags to the room were good. The room had lots of dead ants everywhere. The bathroom does not have a door - no privacy. The pool area was dirty and messy. There was no hot water for shower.
