So… we ended up here because a storm closed the hotel where we had reservations. this property has a lot of potential and it is working toward being a solid hotel. Our group had 3 rooms and they were all extremely different. Room number 2 was very nice and I would give it 5 stars for decor, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Room 3 was a step down - the difference was the decor. Room 11 was bad - like pre-renovation. Furniture, bathroom fixtures, carpet, everything needed to be replaced - the bathroom was barely functional and it was so rundown that it felt unclean. I spoke with the “front desk” and it sounds like the hotel was recently purchased and they are starting renovations.
Room was very cold you could feel air blowing in around windows. Bathroom was so small nowhere to sit anything. Not very sound proof. Carpet needs a good cleaning. Bed was comfy and we asked for an extra pillow and they did bring us two. Very rundown building and area outside not the cleanest. Had to carry luggage up about 40steps
Staff was polite. The dinner was very expensive and did not live up to expectations. Dinner service was not attentive. No mixed drinks available. Very limited whisky offerings.
The room was ok, but there was no way to shut off the bathroom fan, so it was going all night. The chairs in the room are very well worn and uncomfortable.
On our second day, a storm came through and no power and hot water was available for over 14 hours. The front desk was not going to refund the last night as we were not going to stay without heat, lights, hot water or restaurant available( there wasn’t anywhere else to eat and no fridge in the room). My husband had quite the conversation with them before they relented and refunded the last night.
The power went out but the kitchen remained open. Everyone did the best they could do and stepped up under the circumstances. Candle became very useful.
Friendly staff great veiws
The manager and staff were excellent. Caring and kind.
The Chef made very good soups and entrees.
The cleanliness needs some TLC. Attention to detail
The view from our room overlooking the Loch was amazing!
The condition of this property was so dated, the room we booked did not represent the photos. The bathroom was so dated, only a hand held shower.
Decor was very poor and im sure we heard a mouse scurrying around in the night.
Definitely not luxury rooms sadly
Nice location, great Loch view
Cold room, need more
why is this place even open, driving up to it it looks terrible, old run down food truck serving food in the driveway, inside no staff, floors ceiling and walls shabby and dirty, the room was a cubby hole missmatch and the stink of damp and mould was overwhelming, it was late so slept on top of the bed, i didnt dare use the shower or taps, i told the owner in the morning i would not stay the next night and wanted a refund for the 2nd night, he said ok but of course now he says no and expedia is no help
the kitchen appliances and rubbish were dumped in the parking spots, dont have the words to convey haw bad it is DONT STAY HERE WHATEVER YOU DO
The view was nice. There is some mold on the stone in the bathroom wall that needs cleaned up. The people were great. The food was fair compared to the other places we’re staying.
Possibly the worst hotel room that I have ever stayed in. Broken window with rain coming in. The noise from the rain was so loud that I had to have the radio on all night. The wall paper is peeling off the walls and the room smells damp. There was no plug for the sink and the cold water tap was not fixed to the basin. Just horrible and depressing. The pictures used on Hotels.com are misleading. Do not stay at this hotel.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Dining was not that’s great
The view of the loch is lovely but the room was terrible. I booked this place based on a few reviews and wish I hadn’t. It was not worth the money at all. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way, we couldn’t drain the bathtub, the mattresses are OLD, you could feel springs in them and everything was dingy. Would not recommend this place at all. We did not eat there so can’t rate the quality of that.
This property was not as described. Far from luxury rooms. Carpets were dirty, holes in bathroom walls, sink tap broken, not all lights were working in the bathroom, tv didn’t work, walls and baseboards weren’t very clean. When I asked for 2 extra pillows the manager rolled his eyes. The dinner left a lot to be desired. Could hear pipes and noises from room above. After complaining about the conditions we were moved to another room that was not much better, the chairs in the sitting area both had tattered arms. No light above sink. I wouldn’t recommend this Lodge to anyone. New owners since March so I’m not sure where the rave reviews came from. The sitting rooms downstairs off the lobby were the only parts of the lodge that looked proper.
The room and bathroom weren't that clean, the room smelled, there was garbage in the parking lot.
Nice place, would recommend.
Great restaurant, lovely views, weak WiFi signal in my room.
Great location with great views and within striking distance of Glencoe.
No stars should be the rating. Terrible hygiene. Filthy brown water coming out of taps. Food was bad. Unsafe uncooked seafood. Stinking rotten fish. Electric sockets unsafe. TVs not working in most rooms. No action taken to rectify by staff.
