TownePlace Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square

I am a marriott titanium so I think I've stayed at a wide gamut of their hotel brands. This is my first Towneplace and I was prepared for it to be like a residence inn or similar brands. Yes it was but I can say it didnt necessarily meet up to standards. This is a smaller hotel in a very convenient location to times square. I never felt it was noisy and it was clean.
There are two different sections of the hotel; front and back (back faces 43rd st). When I checked in I stayed in the front of the hotel in a reserved king room. I asked for any upgraded rooms and they said there were none available. After getting the keys it took 3 or 4 minutes for the elevator to arrive. MIND YOU the hotel is maybe 5 or 6 stories so this is unacceptable. Got to the room and it was a queen. Went to the front desk and they said according to the computer it was a king. I said you're more than welcome to come to the room and see it was a queen bed. At this point it really didnt matter since I was told it was sold out and we can try to move you the next day.
The next day at 8am I went to the front desk and the person behind the desk was very pleasant and nice and said I can give you the larger room which has a king and is handicap accessible. I took it. This room was in the back hotel and the elevators actually worked and didnt take more than a minute to arrive. THe room was much nicer.
The breakfast was basic and decent...exactly what I was expecting. Also beware the front doors to the hotel auto locks at 7pm. That's a little early for the times square area. I never felt unsafe so not sure why that was even necessary
Lastly, I wish I could post on the marriott website, but you need to be invited to leave a review. I relied on the above 4 star rating to book this hotel, but it really is a 3 star and I would have selected a different hotel.

​I had a really cool stay at the TownePlace Suites Manhattan Times Square. The location is perfect, but what truly made the experience memorable was the staff. Sebastian and the whole team were absolutely great—incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout my entire visit.
​Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for an excellent stay in NYC. I will definitely be back and this thanks to the team.

Le personnel est très sympathique et répond tout de suite aux demandes. Situation parfaite de l’hôtel à quelques rues de Times square et proche des stations de métro. Chambre bien équipée et très propre. Petit déjeuner correct et plutôt varié (yaourts, muffins, céréales, bagels, saucisses ou bacon, pommes de terres, œufs et quelques viennoiseries de temps en temps). Café, thé et eau fraîche à disposition tout au long de la journée.

Nos cancelaron el vuelo de NY a Atlanta. Tuvimos que quedarnos una noche más… ultimo minuto. Quisieron cobrarnos por una noche extra por una habitación de 135 (según la app de booking), 399 dol. Oportunistas. Nos tuvimos que ir a otro hotel. Btw, gracias Booking.

Shantel was the highlight of the stay. She was extremely pleasant during each interaction I had and those I could hear. This was my first experience at Towneplace and she made the difference.

Now the elevator literally took forever and I was often on it with handyman with loads of things but because it was too slow I couldn't chance missing it.

Otherwise for the rate it definitely was a surprise quality stay.

Great location, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. The kitchenette and complimentary breakfast made our stay even more convenient.

L’emplacement proche de Times square. La proximité de la bouche de métro. La kitchenette pour ceux qui en ont besoin. La dame qui nous a rendu nos bagages était gentille. Les chambres étaient propres.

Sufficient for our needs. Staff were as helpful as they could be given the circumstances out of their control.
