sehr freundliches Personal
There is a lot of noise. It is impossible to sleep and rest. The walls are like papers. You can hear everything from outside land from other rooms, from steps to the water flush.
Habitaciones no insonorizadas. No volveremos.
Nothing according to price & category very old decoration wallpaper broken not repaired -dark colors not enough light in room,no internet two broken lights balls on the bed header none was working .. the blind -cord was almost broken and the blunder it was in one shields ..staff although the receptionist tried to be nice and friendly, might be too much when We arrived she addressed to me calling me by my short name Patrí instead of Patrícia and talking to me "From you"(instead of usted) very unpolite. Towards the new clients she never saw before in her life!!
She advise smartly to have breakfast in the coffee bakery at the corner because was cheaper and much better than the. Hotel breakfast
In general was enough clean to have your shower and sleep one night nothing else not very close to Cuenca's heart
The parking you need to book in advance while going your reservation 11€ (we parked at the end of the above street for 17€ do it might be worth to book
It
For the price you pay, you can't really complain. For a short stay this place is ok! Easy to find by car, lady at reception had to show us the spot to park in (cost to park is just over 8€ per night). Lift available from car park to reception area. Room is a good size. Beds are on the not so comfy side and portable a/c is a little noisy and doesn't really cool the room. Shower is small, but functional! Has liquid soap at the sink and within the shower (which has glass slide doors, no yucky shower curtain). Hairdryer also available. Takes about 20 minutes by foot to get to the centre (mostly uphill!...take water and make sure you're not hungry either!). Not bad for one night!
On a major hotel website describes the hotel as 2.4 km from the Old Town ... this is complete uphill and steep. It should mention that, as there is no parking in the centre of the Plaza Mayor. The hotel was basic ... and description deceptive. We would have chosen elsewhere. Additionally, we were not impressed with the old town square --- it felt run down and unloved - beautiful but in need of a facelift!
Despite the plethora of no smoking signs, this place absolutely reeks of cigarette smoke, which makes for quite an unpleasant atmosphere. Centrally located, with parking available, the rooms are basic and the whole place quite dated. But it was reasonable for the price.
This hotel is a bit dated and not quite three star category in my opinion. It was clean and the bathroom and shower were adequate.
The beds are equipped with old spring mattresses which were very uncomfortable. Thankfully we were only there for one night. The walls are paper thin and any noise in the corridor can easily be heard.
Best thing about the place is the very friendly and efficient receptionist.
As a city...stick to the old town.
We stayed a few weeks ago for two nights and we couldn't sleep first night because of all kind of noises, like drums, buzz or shop-alarms that sounds far but loud. Hot dark small room next to elevator, also the bed was uncomfortable, too soft but with hard points at the middle. The bath was not clean as we expected by a 3stars-hotel and towels some day in the past were white but not nowadays. Free wi-fi low speed and lots of fails. Out of date facilities. Definitely a place NOT to stay, even its cheapest rates. It's a shame because the hotel staff is friendly, and its location is perfect to walk around the center of the city.
The hotel was easy to find and the reception staff very helpful. It is located near to bars and restaurants and had a secure underground car park. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable and rickety resulting in a poor nights sleep. The hotel although clean is in need of updating. Breakfast was very basic. WIFI was not available in rooms.
Unfortunately we were not at all impressed with Cuenca either. The town appeared very run down. The streets and pavements looked like they had never been cleaned. Perhaps this was why the place seemed to be full of flies?!!
Stayed 2 nights in June, and agree with all recent comments 100%. We had been told we were in the old quarter - definitely NOT and noticed that there are many lovely places to stay in the old quarter . Our bathroom was so small, one had to site sideways on the toilet ,with knees touching the outside wall. we were in room 109 and although the hotel looks large from the road, there is only 1 floor and the floors above are ALL private apartments.. The first night we were kept awake all night with an extremely noisy family till early hours of the morning ...- ceilings and walls like tissue paper with noise all night above and beside us. On complaining after 1st night , got the not our problem (private apartments) No English spoken at all on reception. No city info offered and town map given begrudgingly , interrupting her computer work. No drawers for clothes , had to live out of suitcase.Only nice thing was the breakfast, but definitely should be called a HOSTEL.
The parking facility is ok. The staff spoke only Spanish, no city maps or other information was available. The rooms were very small and basic, no shampoo, soap etc. View from the window into a dark, narrow backyard. The breakfast buffet had a good selection.
The location is central and it is easy to walk to the old town.
The really friendly receptionist didn't make up for this hotel's shortcomings. The room was too small to really accommodate us. The car park was a nightmare to get in and out of - a really tight turn and the lighting didn't stay on long enough to park properly. We had a room buried in the interior and it was dark despite being near a lightwell. The place smelt musty and you had to doubt whether the no smoking signs had really been taken notice of by guests. It is in the newer part of town so it is much better to stay in the old town up on the hill which is lovely.
Despite the 'no smoking signs' this hotel smelled like an ashtray. The garage parking was outrageously expensive but luckily we scored a spot on the street not too far away. My advice, spend a bit more and go up to the touristy end of town where the sights are within walking distance. The room was typical, as in, tight. When will hotels learn that an extra pillow or two could make all the difference?
We stayed at the Francable for one night on a bike tour up to Cuenca. Wanting a cheap hotel with secure parking for the night and this didn't disappoint.
Parking was in their underground car park, shared with other people but with special spaces allocated to the hotel. It cost I think 8 euros but with a Harley Davidson it was needed.
The room was 50 euros, breakfast, optional for another 4 euros but a basic spanish style which we didn't opt for, preferiing to find a local cafe overlooking the park.
The room itself was quite a nice size, small bath in the bathroom - spanish style, but plenty of hot water and very clean. it had a huge window but no view as we looked out into a light shaft! So our curtains stayed closed for the duration. to be honest for the price we weren't bothered as the rom was literally only to sleep in or get read for a meal out after arriving.
If i can give one tip it'd be to get a room as far from the breakfast room as possible - as the waitress/ cleaner was rather noisy. but overall a great little hotel, easy to book with over the phone and we'd stay there again.
