Plataran Bromo

The food only came 2 hours later, the pasta is not only apetizing, looks poorly made, so bad, no oil on it, using canned tuna, doesn't say it's canned just tuna, bread was soggy like it was waiting in a cold fridge and just microwaved, the staff look so bored and not caring

A unique and memorable experience at Plataran Bromo! The resort is set high above the clouds with incredible views of sunset. A great base before doing a 4ww trip to Bromo sunrise. Lots of activities on site to keep everyone busy and occupied - can definitely stay here a full day and enjoy all that there is to offer. Service was very friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Anches, Cindy and Nurul for putting extra care into our trip.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely consider coming back despite a few hiccups.

The property itself is beautiful. It’s spacious, surrounded by lush, well-maintained plants, and the misty forest creates a truly unique and peaceful atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We also really liked the common areas, especially the shared living room, which was beautifully designed and equipped with a large TV where guests can watch Netflix and relax.

We stayed one night and to be honest weren’t in the hotel that much but our room was very nice apart from accessing it.. Block 3 is up slopes and lots of steps.. the furthest away from everything.
The decor of the hotel throughout is stunning! The gardens are immaculate. We even wrote a message on the tree of hope.
We had a very nice dinner from the set menu and were served by the very professional and friendly - Haris.
All of the staff throughout the hotel were fabulous.
We had massages on arrival day which were good. We would’ve used the pool or jacuzzi or sauna after our journey, but they don’t have any of these facilities which would really enhance the hotel if they did..
It’s still the place to stay when visiting Mount Bromo.
Breakfast was fine, albeit I was disappointed that there wasn’t any fruit or yoghurts. This is a very nice hotel up in the mountains perfect for visiting Mount Bromo.

We stayed at Plataran Bromo, which is often considered one of the better hotels in the Bromo area. While the location and concept are strong, and the property is positioned as a luxury brand, the overall experience felt quite far from luxury.

We stayed at the House Resort, which consists of two upstairs rooms with a shared living space. The rooms themselves were decent and comfortable enough, but access was quite challenging. After a long day at Tumpak Sewu (which already involves a lot of climbing), we still had to navigate five slopes and staircases from the restaurant to reach our rooms, which made it quite tiring, especially for families with children or elderly guests.

Food was a major disappointment throughout our stay. The selection lacked variety and was essentially the same every day. Even afternoon tea was underwhelming. One evening, when we tried to dine at the alternative restaurant outside the hotel, it was fully booked, leaving us no choice but to return to the main restaurant again. Unfortunately, many menu items were unavailable, and we were served the same limited selection once more.

We also booked the campervan picnic experience, which was unfortunately quite disappointing. It had rained in the afternoon, and the setup did not resemble the promotional photos at all. Although we ordered food for two pax, there were six of us (including children), but the setup was for two, hotel could have made some flexibility with the set up. There were no cushions in the campervan (unlike the pictures and maybe because it was raining and wet. Lighting was good at the site. The overall picnic didn't feel special at all. The marshmallows were not prepared in advance and had to be requested, and some food items were served cold, including chicken balls with the noodles, we had to ask to be reheated. There was also little flexibility with the menu, which meant some food went untouched.

Overall, while Plataran Bromo has potential and is likely one of the better accommodation options in the area, the execution of its “luxury” positioning feels inconsistent.

Stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. We brought our 2.5 years old toddler along and thank goodness for the mini play area at Level 3 restaurant as well as the Carnaval playground. These 2 places kept my toddler very happy and entertained.

Food wise, Plataran Bromo kept us very well-fed throughout our time here. Breakfast had a slight change in variety during our time there and the same goes for the tea break (from 4-5pm). For lunch/dinner, my family thoroughly enjoyed their tenderloin, fried breaded chicken, iga gentong (oxtail soup), fried bebek (duck) as well as the mie ayam gbk. Please try these dishes when you go!

As for the view, we managed to see loads of stars on most of the nights. There are also a number of activities you can do on site that are free, such as feeding of sheeps, playing at the Carnaval (includes carousel rides, viking, merry-go-round etc), tour around the estate etc!

Throughout our time here, we encountered staff who were always smiley, genuine and hardworking. I was so in awe when I saw a staff climbing the stairs/incline slope while carrying a foldable bed. Please tip them generously if you are able to. They truly deserve it.

My family and I will definitely explore other Plataran resorts in the future!

I have a great experience staying at Plataran Bromo. The hotel is beautiful and clean, very well-kept, services are great, staffs are friendly and helpful. Truly the Swiss of Java.

The hotel has a common living and dining room area. The rooms are always cleaned and the views are magical. We went as 3 families and the rooms provide us with the privacy we need while still allowing our children to mingle in the communal areas.

The activities were thoughtfully organized, with food and drinks always ready. We came back from the Tengger Caldera Tour post breakfast and found out that they have prepared and set aside a set of breakfast waiting for our return.

The staff are very friendly, attentive and great with kids.

We wished we had stayed an additional night. 2 nights is not enough to fully explore this beautiful place.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were very kind, friendly, and always willing to help with a smile. The service was outstanding and exceeded my expectations. Everything was handled professionally, making my stay enjoyable and stress-free. Everything about this place is exceptional.

To categorize Plataran Bromo simply as a "resort" would certainly undermine the amazing experience we had.

My wife and I stayed at Plataran Bromo in May to celebrate her birthday, booking the "Couples Retreat" package. I chose this package to ensure a hassle-free vacation where we could fully enjoy the occasion, and it delivered well above and beyond our expectations.

From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by a private car to take us to the property. The second we stepped foot into the resort, it took our breath away. The entire staff made us feel right at home, and we were introduced to our personal butler, Mr. Ragil.

As part of the package, we stayed in a Suite Room, which was incredibly classy and spacious. Everything from the bed and the bathroom (featuring a separate shower and bathtub) to the balcony overlooking the hills and the top-notch amenities was exceptional. The room's design was elegant without feeling overly pretentious. Furthermore, a personal welcome note from Mr. Boris (the Operations Director) and birthday decorations in the room made the occasion feel even more special.

The next day, we left the hotel at 2:30 AM to catch the sunrise at the top of Mt. Bromo. The hotel had already prepared boxed breakfasts (local fried rice and sandwiches) for us to enjoy during our early morning trip. After watching the sunrise and visiting the caldera, we were served a private breakfast at the base of the mountain. This is an experience we will certainly cherish forever.

When we arrived back at the hotel, we were served lunch. You will truly be spoiled by the food here; the taste is amazing. The Plataran group is renowned for its fine-dining Indonesian food concept, and I can attest that the culinary quality at Plataran Bromo matches the high standards of their top-tier restaurants—which is incredible for a remote resort.

Our package also included a 60-minute couples spa treatment, which we desperately needed after our mountain excursion.

The highlight of the day, however, was a private romantic dinner at the glass house. We were treated to a flawless, specially curated 3-course meal inside a beautiful garden nursery setting that left us breathless.

I must highlight the incredible staff. Everyone did a phenomenal job attending to our every need. Special thanks to Mr. Boris, who personally ensured we had an amazing experience and even cooked his mother’s special egg omelet recipe for us. Another team member who deserves high praise is Mr. Ragil, who was always there to assist us. Last but certainly not least, the entire team at Plataran Bromo made us feel completely at home.

My advice: experience Plataran Bromo for more than just one day. A minimum of two nights is a good start. We will certainly be back because, in my eyes, there are ordinary resorts, and then there is "Plataran Bromo"—there is a massive difference.

We recently concluded a wonderful 5-day stay at this hotel, and every aspect of the experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was consistently warm, friendly, and attentive. The front desk team was always pleasant and helpful, the chefs went above and beyond, and the spa facilities were excellent — truly relaxing and well maintained.

A special mention to Mr Boris, Director of Operations, who was frequently seen walking the grounds and personally ensuring that guests were well taken care of. That level of dedication and visibility speaks volumes about the hotel’s service culture.

We were especially impressed by the thoughtful touches for longer-stay guests, including customized menu options and the care taken to accommodate our allergies and food preferences. It made us feel genuinely valued and comfortable throughout our stay.

The environment was beautifully maintained, room cleanliness was top notch every single day, and all tours and activities arranged by the hotel were smooth, enjoyable, and very well organized.
