Pros:

Surprisingly Good Stay at Old-style Hotel
Pros:

This is the way many hotels in Japan used to be, with a metal room key that must be dropped off at front desk whenever you leave the property. It has a very early traditional breakfast in AM, and just a few amenities—so this stay was nostalgic for me. Desk staff were great, but it does help to speak a little Japanese or use a translation app like Google Translate.

When you come down steps from JR Narita, stay on right side of the street—hotel is two blocks down on left side but to save time don’t cross until you walk one block down. Cafe Marond will be to your front as you leave JR, with an excellent bakery. There is also a small drugstore next to the JR station steps with better prices than Aeon when it comes to snacks, paper towels, or dental items.

This is the quiet side of Narita where the locals live—not the busy/noisy tourist area. You can find a wonderful bento shop called Kitchen Origin on right side of street as you head towards Asia hotel. It has a better selection than most combinis or even Aeon, in my opinion and prices are as good or better. Local friends say the barber shops in this area are very good and less expensive than at the big hotels or tourist area.

The budget single rooms at Asia hotel are significantly larger than what I found at APA, Toyoko, or Comfort Inn. The plumbing is older (no heated toilet seat), but well-maintained. My stay was very good and I hope to return again.

Cons:

There is no laundry on property—I was pointed to a community laundromat further down the street. Also it seemed like one had to rent an iron for clothes—They apparently are not available for free. No bus pick-up—You must use JR train from airport and get off at JR Narita.

Pros:

スタッフの方が親切でした。成田駅からも近く、朝食が無料なのが良かったです。

Cons:

アメニティが少ないように感じました。化粧をするときに卓上鏡が無いのが少し不便でした。ウォシュレットであれば尚良しでした。

コストパフォーマンスはまずまずだと思います。
Pros:

コスト的に朝食は無いと思っていましたが、朝食があって良かった。

Cons:

トイレがウォシュレットで無くヒーターも無かったので残念だった。
バスタブにお湯をためたら垢のようなものが浮いてきた。
