This visit wasn’t the best, but I’d love to stay again in cooler weather!
Pros:

The room itself was brilliant. Nice & clean & a great size. Beds were very comfy too.
The gentleman on reception was very friendly & super helpful.

Cons:

Needed air con, even just in a few rooms. Ours was past a fire door which trapped heat in the corridor & rooms, so it was pretty close to unbearable. We had 4 fans but there weren’t any plug sockets close enough to the beds, so they didn’t help. I did ask if there were any extension leads but unfortunately, there weren’t. I ended up having to sleep on a wet towel to try to cool down.

A great over-nighter for work or a weekend stay
Pros:

I love the staff and Redwings - lots of people can work a hotel reception and be pleasant - Redwings Solihull staff are uniquely genuine and warm. They had thoughtfully closed curtains to keep the heat out and remembered us from previous stays.

Cons:

A tiny fridge in the rooms would be helpful. Like many people, I am not a fan of UHT, and this would easily solve that. I'll even provide the milk! Tiny thing really, and would never stop me staying there.

The location was great and breakfast was available in the pub

Sad to not go back.
Pros:

I can only leave a good review, even though I have been asked not to return.
In June, I stayed here, which was about my 5th annual visit, and made a mistake by blaming the hotel for something they were not responsible for.
On my return home, I realised my error. I immediately called reception and called back after the weekend to speak to the Manager.
I sent an apology card and a large bunch of flowers and fell on my sword to no avail.
I have a profile picture on social media that my late wife took in the car park of this hotel several years ago, before she was diagnosed.
Although I don't blame them, because this was 100% my fault, I do feel very sad that I am unable to return in 2027.
Life is far too short for grudges, and anyone reading this who needs a perfect location for the NEC will find it a great place to stay.
